Beautiful and inhuman

The Good
One of the best thing in this game its illusion. The illusion of being just a simple shooter. However it is more than what it appears. It is a well constructed, beautifully drawn game. That requires some managing skills (not so much to buy equipment for the Wanzers), good reflexes, and as the player progress to its end more and more patience. The story of the game is syrupy but still enjoyable. And the game contains some good idea, like leaving the Wanzer (that's how the Mech in this game is called) and continuing on foot. And for the feature that the characters are traveling around the world, gives a very good atmosphere.

The Bad
Well, the first thing that is annoying is the complex menu system, when the player want to equip his and his companions' Wanzer. One can be almost lost in this virtual maze. Then its inhuman difficulty on the last stages, which are making the game almost impossible to complete. For the last boss, as usual has many forms to defeat, becoming almost more and more indestructible. Of what I think is a distinguishing mark of the Publisher: Square Company for their games are usually difficult, but I don't dare to say anymore negative things about this company because I fear of being stoned to death by their followers. :)

The Bottom Line
This is a game of very good atmosphere, enjoyable game-play, some decent ideas, mediocre story, and inhuman final boss. More than a shooter less than a simulator but still can give many pleasant hours to the player.
