Sort the Court!
Description
Sort the Court! puts the player in the role of a king (or queen) in charge of making decisions for their kingdom. Every day people, animals and other strange creatures come to the monarch with an issue, and they can only respond in one of two ways: Yes or no.
Every decision made in the game might have an effect on three parameters: Population, the people's happiness, and gold. For example, a fisherman could ask for gold to buy a boat. Approving his request will cost gold, increase happiness, and in the long run could provide income tax. However refusing the request saves gold, which can be used for some other costly plan. Some decisions might also have long term effects, with characters returning much later in the game, remembering your past decisions and reacting accordingly.
The goal of the game is for the monarch to join the Council of Crowns, a group of fellow monarchs. However, the game continues after the ending scene, and the player can keep the kingdom growing and tie loose ends with some of the characters.
The game was originally made in 72 hours for Ludum Dare 34, where the themes were "Growing" and "Two Buttons."
