Windows version story
The Windows version Speed Busters: American Highways starts off with a live-action movie that sets up the story behind the game. The premise is that some police men have gone crazy and are rewarding players who speed past their radar traps with big money. For this Dreamcast port, the story was completely changed. The opening movie was replaced by an animated cinematic consisting mostly of in-game footage.
Alternate cover
Copies sold at Wal-Mart stores in certain parts of the United States feature an alternate cover which removes the devil from the logo. The alternate cover is only a sticker over the front of the regular version's manual; nothing else about this edition is changed.
