Trivia

Demo

The demo to the game included 3 levels and quickly hosted an extremely large community, it was active the entire lifespan of the full game, even long after Tribes 2 came out, thousands of fans logged on to the original demo and fought it out in organized clan matches. Rarely has a demo supported so many dedicated fans for such a long period of time.

Free release

On June 3rd, 2004, Sierra released Starsiege Tribes for free to celebrate the upcoming release of Tribes: Vengeance. It was later re-released in 2015 by current rights owners Hi-Rez Studios, albeit as the Tribes Action Pack release (which bundles both Tribes and Starsiege into one), alongside freeware releases of the other Tribes games and the two EarthSiege games.
