Originally released for PC (Windows) in 2002 as an adult visual novel, which in the next year got a port to DVD Player and Dreamcast platforms as well, it didn't get a port to PlayStation 2 until 2005. PS2 release is based on Dreamcast version which includes bonus elements. Unlike the Dreamcast version, in the extras menu there is additional "Event Mode" which lets you replay specific events in the game which focus on a specific heroine. Also, the "Shogi Mode" is unique to PS2 version which was not in the extras of Dreamcast release.

The story starts one summer and follows Yoshiki Asamiya, a high-school freshman who is part of the Shogi club. As such, the game will present you with a lot of Shogi-related questions during your classes and studies. One day, while passing through the park, you run into a girl called Ayumi and her dog who was less than pleased to meet you. While she does not go to the same school as you do, she appears to be a part of the very same Shogi club that you are a member of. While she is the main heroine of the game, there are other girls in the club that may get you attention, namely Tasuku, Kozue, Yuuna, and Sonya.

Game features static characters which change poses to emphasize specific dialogue, but do not animate in any way. All the characters except the protagonist have voice-acting support. On-screen text has a typical auto and manual option, and message log is included as well. Additionally, game options let you set a different text font. Extras screen contain heroine-based unlockable CG galleries, event mode, shogi mode, and unlocked by default BGM player.
