Gelungenes Action-Adventure aus der Vogelperspektive, das seine Parallelen zu The Legend of Zelda nicht versteckt und doch erzählerisch einen eigenen Weg geht.
Way Too Many Games (Jan 09, 2018)
Blossom Tales is a blast from start to finish. It knows it’s a complete carbon copy of older Zelda games and uses that to its advantage with a funny and self-aware way of storytelling, coupled with good controls and excellent dungeon design, sometimes even surpassing its sources of inspiration. Not only that, but the game is slightly harder than your average Zelda game, so there’s yet another motivation for those out there who think most games on this series are a bit easy (and I know you’re out there). If you’re a Zelda fan wishing for something a bit more classic and similar to the good old days when the franchise was still 2D, don’t even think twice: Blossom Tales might have a couple of issues, but it’s still extremely entertaining and worth the purchase.
NintendoWorldReport (Dec 23, 2017)
Like most kids, I grew up playing and absolutely adoring classic Zelda games. Blossom Tales successfully accomplishes it’s goal of recreating the tried and true simplistic gameplay found in the classic action/adventure genre, but also adds a bit of its own personality as well. By adapting new mechanics for a more fluid experience and combining that with the charming story-telling narrative, Castle Pixel has created an elegant love letter to one of Nintendo’s most cherished and beloved titles. So if you yearn for a polished Zelda experience, look no further - Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King is a beautiful homage.

Was Spaceballs für Star Wars ist, scheint Blossom Tales: The Sleeping Kind für The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past zu sein.

It’s always strange reviewing a game that so desperately wants to recreate something the developers loved growing up. Fans of the original will no doubt find kinship, and people that never played it may find this to be their original love for the style of game. But it won’t change the minds of anyone that didn’t like the genre before. What the game does, it does well – in particular the writing. Perhaps the best part of the game is the grandfather and his grandchildren – without that, the game would lose a lot of its heart and be nothing more than a clone. Suffice to say, his storytelling won me over.

Blossom Tales takes much of it's rule book straight from A Link to the Past and manages to adapt relatively well. Whilst the game lacks some of the polish and charm of it's inspiration, it doesn't stop the game from being good in it's own right.

It is a great game in its own right, but it is also a less than average Legend of Zelda game. I would recommend it to any Zelda fan that wants to relive the glory days, but a replay of Link to the Past is a much more reliably pleasant experience.
Video Chums (Dec 26, 2017)
If you're looking to play a cute indie version of The Legend of Zelda then Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King definitely fits the bill. Just don't expect it to provide anything particularly new and exciting.

Nintendo Life (Jan 04, 2018)
Judging a game on its own merits is very important. However, when a title happens to borrow just about every aspect of its design from an iconic game series, it’s hard not to acknowledge. Claims could be made that a game like this is nothing more than a shameless clone, but thankfully in the case of Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King, the developer has intentionally crafted it with a sense of love and admiration of classic Zelda games. While it’s not as flawlessly executed as the series it draws inspiration from and it doesn’t add anything particularly groundbreaking, it's still a heartfelt tribute to the earlier entries in Nintendo’s long-running series.

”Zelda: A Link to the Past”-Klon ohne eigene Ideen – ordentlich gemacht, aber weit weg vom Meilenstein.
