Teddy Boy
Description official description
As Teddy Boy, you must use your gun to shoot at enemies that come out of the boxes that are scattered around the level. You have limited time to do this. The number of enemies that come out of these boxes depends on the number being shown on the face. When you shoot enemies, they turn into little balls which you quickly need to collect. If you do not, the balls will be transformed into little creatures that eat away time. Once you have destroyed all enemies, you advance to the next level. when you stand in the same spot for too long, the floor will disintegrate, causing you to fall down to the below platform. From time to time, you will play a bonus game, where you get the choice of either a third-person shooting gallery, or a treasure hunt where you play Yohko.

The Good
The sense of speed. You better be quick in Teddy boy. When you shoot a creature with your gun, they are miniaturized into a little ball. If you don't make contact with it quickly, it changes into a parasite that eats your timer. And if that's not enough, being stuck in a room full of Den Den's is enough to cause a panic attack for as fast as they move. It may also be the only game that awards points for finding cigarettes in the bonus rounds.
The Bad
Teddy boy is another deceptive cutesy-looking game that is just mean. It may be a little too hard for it's own good.
The Bottom Line
Overall, Teddy Boy is an above-average platformer because of it's mix of elements and unique gameplay. Instead of the usual "hop-n-bop" titles this genre is full of, it innovates on the idea you can't just simply jump on his head to stop him, or simply shooting the creature dosen't stop him either. There are two parts to the game where you must prioritize either going after the next guy and risk running out of time, or assuring you wipe out all the bad guys and get chased all over the place in the process.

Trivia
Brazilian version: Geraldinho
A version of this game was released in Brazil called Geraldinho. Instead of Teddy Boy, you played Geraldinho, a character based on a famous Brazilian comic.
Version differences
The Master System port has fewer levels and thus starts to loop around sooner. It also has a completely different bonus stage where you're faced with a room full of boxes, containing either bonus point items or enemies. Enemies will chomp down on your timer or, if you touch them, end the bonus stage prematurely. The Western releases also replace the title song, fully removing the Yohko Ishino connection.
