In case you haven't noticed, Nintendo is big on Tetris. They've released many variations of the game, so I put this cartridge in thinking the cow had run dry. As it turns out, I was wrong. This is yet another excellent Tetris-inspired puzzle game which will keep you riveted for hours on end! This time, you are presented with a mountain of blocks which rise as new rows bubble up from underneath. The only move you can make it to swap blocks that are side-to-side. Line up three or more of the same color and they explode. In sounds simple but the possibilities are endless. In the one player game, your goal is to keep the pile below a certain level, and in the two-player game you compete for score. Tetris Attack is easy to play but tough to master - a sure sign of a great game.
Game BoyPortable Review (Oct 29, 2005)
There is an immense amount of replay value in this game. Between five single-player modes, a 2-player mode and unbelievable addictive gameplay, this game has it all. So, if you're looking for a puzzle game for your old Game Boy (or even your Game Boy Advance), you can't go wrong with Tetris Attack.
Game BoyElectric Playground (Nov 12, 1996)
There's not much wrong with Tetris Attack. It delivers everything it sets out to do and then some. With a variety of different gameplay scenarios, not to mention a great two player mode, this is a portable diversion that will see many hours of play time. Tetris fiends can breathe easy. The legacy of their beloved game has not been tarnished.
SNESAll Game Guide (2007)
While cuter and more colorful than any prior Tetris games, Tetris Attack is in no way less addicting, less intense or any easier. As a matter of fact, it's downright frightening how quickly the hours can melt away while you are mesmerized by this thoroughly challenging game. It's a blast zipping the cursor around the screen, trying for combos and chain reactions.
SNESGame Informer Magazine (Sep, 2003)
Difficulty comes from pile size and the speed in which they rise - which can get pretty intense and frantic. This same aesthetic was duplicated in the Game Boy/N64 cart Pokemon Puzzle League. It's a classic in any form.

Special mention must go out to the music, as it's definitely a case of mind over matter. The tunes seem simple, repetitive and limited at first, but they're surprisingly very nice to listen to, set the right mood for each game and grow on you quite a bit. Thank heavens for a sound test, then. Add to that loads of different play modes, including a great 2 player VS. Mode, and you've got yourself a genuine slice of puzzle heaven. Puzzle die-hards with many friends around will be playing this for ages. So if puzzling's your thing, go for this. You won't be disappointed.
SNESThe Game Hoard (Dec 29, 2017)
With a puzzle game, it’s important to consider the strength of the mechanics in rating it, and Tetris Attack’s are laid out beautifully. While they do increase to extreme levels of difficulty, that’s only present if you choose to search it out. Tetris Attack’s multiple modes are all fun in different ways and the game does its best to train you up in them. Some modes can be fun even if you don’t want to learn how to do the bigger matches or chains. The presence of a story also makes it more interesting for the goal-oriented gamer, and while it is a simple tale being told, taking on interesting opponents in your puzzle solving match-ups makes it all the more enjoyable.

SNESGame Zero (Sep, 1996)
As for the other game modes, all of them were pretty fun, and solving them was a satisfying challenge. Oh, and just so I don't go out on a bad comment, I must say that this game gave me a good feeling of satisfaction at one point when I went back and played "Endless" mode after having spent countless hours on playing "Vs. Computer" and then had absolutely no problem with stages that only a few days before I had written off as beyond my dexterity skills. Cool.
A great buy for a puzzle fan.

Einfach genial!

Game BoyGamePro (US) (Jan, 1997)
Tetris Attack updates the age-old Tetris concept by inverting the basic action: Instead of blocks falling from the top, now they rise from the bottom. Match up like-colored blocks in four one-player modes or go head-to-head against a puzzle pal in the fast-paced two-player competition (Game Link Cable required). If you're a puzzle fanatic, go on the attack with this satisfying game.
SNESMega Fun (Jan, 1997)
