Universum is an educational game for children 8-13, teaching forms and shapes, in a space environment.

There are four different sections in the Universum main menu:

The 1st section shows images of 10 different shapes, and names them both with voice and text, both 2D and 3D shapes are shown.

The 2nd section called 'Stress' shows a partially covered shape (from the 1st section) with a moving peephole, letting you see parts of the hidden object, and you can stop a timer and write a text guess as to what the hidden shape is - if wrong, you get to try again or if correct you get another shape to guess at until you have passed all 10 shapes. A separate score list is kept here..

The 3rd section holds information about space objects: satellites, planets, astronauts etc. Selecting one object shows some detailed information about it. This section also has a quiz relating to the information provided.

The 4th section is the main game, with a plot asking you to protect the earth from alien attack, while flying your spaceship with the mouse, shooting down incoming missiles from hostile spaceships, avoiding asteroids, and capturing objects with predefined shapes - different for each level. The game has 10 levels, with a highscore list showing at the end.

The game is distributed on a CD containing nine games from the same developer, in a bundle called 'Series 3', but only one installation key is provided on the printed cover, in this case valid for the game 'Universum'.

In addition to the main game 'Universum', there are three free 'bonus games' on the 'series 3' CD: A Breakout clone, A 'Missile Command' clone (using apples instead of missiles) and a Space Invaders clone. These are not requiring installation keys.
