You are known as "the Stranger". You were just heading out west to get a fresh start, but trouble seems to follow you when bandits try to jack the train you're riding... Seems the lady onboard, Polly, was going back home and she told you that Creston's goons are terrorizing all the people... Before the goons nabbed her. This Creston fellow seems to have the local sheriff on his side, but you got the gun... And in the West, even outlaws can be heroes...

Western Outlaw is basically a first-person shooter set in the old West, in the vein of LucasArt's Outlaws, but with a graphics upgrade. You start with just your trusty revolver, but it has three modes! In regular aimmed mode, you shoot one shot at a time, slowly and deliberately, thus giving you accuracy at longer ranges. There's also "fanning" mode, where you slap the hammer back with your left hand and your right hand pulls the trigger, giving you rapid-fire capabilities as long as the ammo lasts. And finally, you can reverse the gun and use the handle to pistol-whip hostiles in hand-to-hand combat.

Later you will find advanced weapons such as twin Colts, shotgun, target rifle, and more. by defeating the bosses.

Western Outlaw: Wanted Dead or Alive Windows This guy is desperately trying to look like Clint Eastwood...
Western Outlaw: Wanted Dead or Alive Windows The twin revolvers are cool, but they are not enough to save this game
Western Outlaw: Wanted Dead or Alive Windows The train is full of identical twins, or maybe clones.
Western Outlaw: Wanted Dead or Alive Windows This lack of clipping is killing me!
