I was moved...touched...hungry!!! Hmmm...I wonder where I should take my lunch break, 17th Century France for some escargot, perhaps 500 A.D. China for some dim sum...the possibilities are endless.
DOSThe DOS Spirit (Dec 10, 2010)

If you’re playing this today, you’re armed with Google; that’s all you need, really. With 80+ cases to solve, you’ll be sleuthing for an age to catch Ms. Sandiego (thankfully, the game gives you a password after you solve every case). I could see the formula – gather clues, travel, gather clues, travel, issue a warrant, arrest, repeat – growing stale after a couple dozen cases. Still, few games have embodied the edutainment genre so well. With Where in Time, you will learn, and you will enjoy yourself… within reason.

The graphics in Where in Time are simple, but well drawn. The thief and V.I.L.E. criminals are animated, as is the ACME building elevator that lets you visit the lab and lounge areas. I can't say enough about Where in Time. That's why I selected it as one of my Reviewer's Choices for the 64.

Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego? is fun. It challenges you with many cases to solve and facts to discover. I recovered such stolen items as Salvador Dali's moustache and the first Santa Claus, and I laughed at other creative heists. Where in Time has a practical purpose as well. With all the facts I've learned, I'd like to get on "Jeopardy!" some day. Happy sleuthing!
Konami brings famous villain Carmen Sandiego and her 15 V.I.L.E. henchmen to the NES in a special new package that includes a vital weapon: The New American Desk Encyclopedia.
Even if you understand the clues, it’s still tricky spending your hours wisely. Adults will have a much easier time than kids, but it’s still challenging and fun, if not educational.
Here is an excellent game for kids, since not only does it pose an interesting quest, it promotes learning and research as well.

If you liked Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, you will definitely enjoy this one. If you disliked the earlier game, well, not much has changed. Villains still have the same improbable-sounding names (Gene Yuss, Kari Meback, Justin Case, Sharon Sharalike), and the play is remarkably the same.
This title is a blast from the computer world of stardom. On the Nintendo, it comes off very well and offers a very interesting and sometimes educational quest for players. The music isn't the best and neither are the soundtracks, but the gameplay is easy to follow and fun.

This game is challenging and fun, as well as educational. Besides individual play, it is great for the classroom or for gathering the entire family around the home computer. And where will Carmen go next? Since she has pretty much covered the Earth, she may venture to the planets and stars as her next venture. I hope so, because I'll be ready to track her down again.
