1UP (Feb 22, 2010)
Blue World is a great sequel: There's lots more to see and do, with refinements all around, from graphics to gameplay. It's what anyone would expect, after all. But all of that comes part and parcel with some flaws. More background music would have been nice, as the game is oddly silent compared to the first, and keeps "epic" music cues to a minimum. Similarly, there's no longer a way to select music freely, or add your own via files from an SD card. Regardless of those little things, Blue World's still well worth picking up for anyone attracted to going on some aquatic adventures, especially if you missed the first game.
Digital Chumps (Feb 21, 2010)
Although Endless Ocean: Blue World undeniably deviates from the typical definition of a “game”, that doesn’t mean that gamers cannot enjoy it. The massive assortment of collectible treasures and shockingly expansive game environments will appeal to any chronic completionist, and the storyline is actually quite captivating. It’d make a great educational gift for kids, too... and it's only $30. If you’re attuned to exploration, take a break from the rest of the gaming world and open your mind to the tranquil departure that is Blue World—you won’t regret it.
NintendoWorldReport (Feb 23, 2010)
Endless Ocean: Blue World takes the young franchise from an enjoyable sea life sandbox to a full-fledged video game experience, with all sorts of bells and whistles. As long as you are a fan of the titular blue world, you'll have a blast with this game.
N-Europe (Feb 26, 2010)
For those seeking an enjoyable, good-looking diving experience this is as good as it gets. For those not so sure, just dive in and take the plunge and you’ll find pure gold. One of Wii’s deepest, most surprisingly enjoyable games.
Worth Playing (Feb 27, 2010)
Overall, Endless Ocean 2: Blue World is a huge step in the right direction for the series, and developer Arika has pulled out all the stops to make this a heck of a sequel. Assuming they have one in the works, I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with another game in the series because it's going to be pretty difficult to improve upon the groundwork here. Either way, if you own a Wii, I highly suggest checking out this title, even if the first one wasn't your cup of tea. It's vastly improved over the original, and it's definitely worth seeking out.
Cubed3 (Feb 02, 2010)
Arika has taken the core of the first Endless Ocean and developed the idea for Adventures of the Deep so considerably that it has easily become one of the exemplar products on Wii, full stop. Its serene, peaceful nature lulls players into the world, whilst it is the great depth of content within that keeps players gripped for hours at a time. This is certainly an experience that should not be missed out on.
3D Juegos (Feb 10, 2010)
Game Shark (Apr 11, 2010)
This is a game of beautiful sights and sounds, of collecting and learning, and the sheer joy of exploring. If you’re looking for hardcore mechanics or twitch action, you’re in the wrong place, but anyone looking for a relaxing change of pace will be right at home.

Nintendo Life (Jan 30, 2010)
Essentially, you’re getting a lot more game for your money with Endless Ocean 2; it’s less free-form and meandering than the original, with greater purpose and direction. Whether that’s what you want from a diving game is up to you, although truth be told there’s few other alternatives. If you liked the first one, you’ll enjoy the sequel every bit as much; if you're still a diving novice, it doesn't get better than Endless Ocean 2.
Destructoid (Feb 22, 2010)
All in all, Endless Ocean: Blue World is a large improvement on the original game and a really wonderful experience. The new features are all winners, the surprisingly solid story is interesting, and the overall presentation feels much more polished this time around. Exploring the game’s stunning undersea world is, at the same time, both exhilarating and educational. As a self-proclaimed non-game, Endless Ocean: Blue World is a charming diversion and comes recommended to anyone looking for something unlike anything else out there. Also, dolphins! (OMG!)
GameSpot (Feb 18, 2010)
Even with all of the refinements that improve and beef up the gameplay in Blue World, it's still going to be a shock to the system if you're used a steady stream of action. The slower pace certainly isn't for everyone. But once you get accustomed to the deliberate and explorative nature of this underwater journey, it yields an extremely enjoyable, almost meditative, experience.
IGN UK (Feb 01, 2010)
With a greater emphasis on structured gameplay elements, and the continued freedom to go off and explore to your heart's content, Arika has ensured that Endless Ocean 2 is a much more rounded experience without ever compromising its unique qualities. Throw in a singing dragon, treasure hunting, magic healing guns, plus communicative online play, and it's a title which deserves much more attention the second time around.
78 (Feb 12, 2010)

That Gaming Site (Feb 14, 2010)
Endless Ocean 2 is a game that has evolved considerably over its original. A full campaign, plenty of side quests and an improved online mode, there is nothing that Akira hasn't taken the time to consider and improve on. It might not win over the naysayers but fans of the original won't be dissapointed.
In fact, pretty much everything about Blue World is better on the whole; the one thing I do miss, however, is the option to use a custom soundtrack.
Meristation (Feb 09, 2010)
There's been a real, well meaning shift towards making Endless Ocean 2 a more rewarding game. It has an episodic, globe-trotting feel to it now, which is all well and good, but what would counterbalance the fish-hugging is a healthy sense of threat, from both predators and the unknown parts of the map. There's none of that on offer though so, like most holidays, this is a welcome break for a period, but you'll be aching to get back to real challenge-and-reward gaming soon enough.

It's not the most exciting game in the world, but to criticise it for that would be missing the point. Endless Ocean 2 is a calming slice of entertainment in a medium that revolves almost entirely around gore-splattering action. Even the soundtrack, full of the kind of histrionic wispy ballads you'd expect to hear padding out Elaine Paige's Sunday afternoon Radio 2 show, helps contribute to the game's chilled mood. It's definitely worth a look, if only to have something on the shelf that's gently mesmerising and a very nice break from the norm.
Endless Ocean: Blue World is another enjoyable adventure in the unexplored vastness of the Earth's oceans. As long as you can deal with the action-lite gameplay and lackluster storytelling, there is a lot to like.
Console Obsession (Jun 04, 2010)
Endless Ocean 2: Adventures of the Deep is a game that isn’t going to be for everyone, although if it clicks with you, you may find yourself obsessively completing all the tasks, drinking in the ocean depths and its surrounding wonders, and being quite the underwater perfectionist. If you don’t get on with it, this is a game that may very well bore you out of your mind as you find yourself yearning for more action orientated titles.

70 (UK) (Jan 28, 2010)
But to criticise Endless Ocean 2 for being boring or twee is to miss the point. It's a peaceful and relaxing experience, with a wonderfully becalmed atmosphere, subdued beauty, and an earnest, innocent attitude - all of them rare properties in games. Even the MIDI muzak and folk warbling of the soundtrack strike the right note, and in this context, the repetitive and simple gameplay has a quietly hypnotic quality. Give it a break, and you'll give yourself one too.
70 (Feb 04, 2010)
Whether or not you should buy Endless Ocean 2 is a fairly simple decision to make. If you like the idea of generally not doing much, exploring and looking at lots of sea creatures, dive in. If the idea of shooting a gun at a fish to heal it and not blow its face off sounds bizarre, avoid.
Teletext (2010)
It's an impressive feature list and even if the game still feels slapped together and awkward to navigate it's a charming mess all the same. It's a real shame it's not at the semi-budget price of the original, but that's the price of improvement.
NZGamer (Feb 08, 2010)
All of this may be well and good, but did I actually enjoy playing EO2? I'd say it was a pleasant experience, but forgettable. The game requires a lot of time for seemingly little pay off. I can however appreciate how some gamers could become fully immersed in the game world and EO2 is a nice game to wind down to. It's a pity that there is no custom soundtrack this time as I feel the game is best enjoyed with some progressive trace playing in the background. Not everyone will appreciate this game, but you have to give the developers props for doing something different, and I think it would also be a great game for younger gamers too. I certainly wouldn't feel guilty letting kids kill a few hours underwater. At the end of the day, you have to ask: could the cash you lay down for this game perhaps be better used towards a vacation?

Level 7 (Feb 15, 2010)
Endless Ocean Adventures of the Deep är avslappning.
IGN (Feb 22, 2010)
I totally understand that Endless Ocean has its fans, but I can't say in the exact same club. I appreciate what the game does and how well the game does it, but the overarching concept just never resonated with me with the same impact it had on other reviewers. Still, for a game that encourages casual exploration and marine appreciation, Endless Ocean's a nice change of pace.
The A.V. Club (Mar 01, 2010)
All that said, Blue World does have a certain je ne sais quoi that’s entrancing at the right moments. The ominous quiet and dark when you edge too close to open sea and the tinkling notes when you find a new focus spot evoke surprisingly powerful emotions. It isn’t clear who the game is for, but it still has merit.
Gamekult (Feb 05, 2010)
Game Revolution (Mar 02, 2010)
He said he didn't like it, and that even for him it was really boring – and he likes kissing the king's butt and that's it. And then he swore more than I've ever heard, something about “that Enya-lite horribleness” or something, and then he passed out. Guess he was pretty mad; he only faints when it's something serious. Like after seeing a shark or when he heard that people try to eat lobsters. Oh, and that one time Ariel's top-floated off in a quick current. Good times...
