NintendoWorldReport (Oct 08, 2009)
Mini Ninjas may not blow down any doors, but it is unique and very well executed. It's also fun, with appealing visuals and interesting environments designed for exploration. In some places, the game may fall a little bit short, but don't let that fool you. In the end, it's all Ninja, and not to be underestimated.
Don't be put off then by the for-kids tag. There's a lot to enjoy about Mini Ninjas, not least the ability to switch between five other characters - Futo, Hiro's obese, hammer wielding mate, and the four ninjas dispatched earlier by the sensei, though none of them are such a complete all-round package as Hiro. If there were a little more variety to the gameplay, this would be damn nigh essential. As it is, it's a high-end, polished game that'll crease your chops into an appreciative grin.
The Guardian (Sep 01, 2009)
The overall effect is almost Zen-like: Mini Ninjas' constant charm renders it calming and even relaxing to play. Which ought to go down well with the parents of games-obsessed youngsters prone to incipient hyperactivity. Indeed, any parent watching Mini Ninjas being played will find it hard to resist the temptation to have a go over their own, at which point their offspring may find it tricky to regain control of the gamepad.
Nintendo Life (Oct 23, 2009)
Mini Ninjas is obviously a game that was created with children in mind, and in the 'good, clean, wholesome fun' department, it truly excels. Of course adults used to more meat on the bone in their action titles might find it a bit lacking.

Though Mini Ninjas might be somewhat hard to distinguish from all of the kid targeted shovelware eating up retailer shelf space, it is definitely worth taking a closer look. Kids will be able to play through with minimal frustration while enjoying the charming sights and sounds, and adults will appreciate the solid gameplay, excellent level design, and great attention to detail. Anybody shopping for a younger gamer should definitely give Mini Ninjas some serious consideration, and hardcore Wii gamers starving for a good adventure might want to look into it for some unexpected fun.
Vandal Online (Sep 10, 2009)
IGN (Sep 22, 2009)
Even though Mini Ninjas might not be as in-depth or content heavy as its modern peers, it's still a charming, fun game that opens up ninja culture to kids. The folks at Io Interactive clearly have a lot of love for the genre, as the stirring environments and music make this journey a pleasure to experience, even if the Wii version was an afterthought.
XGN (Nov 01, 2009)
