NintendoWorldReport (Nov 17, 2009)
Fans of the movies, Disney, and carnival-style games will find a lot to like about Toy Story Mania. Its loyalty to the franchise along with its accessible gameplay will make it an endearing addition to the Wii library. Everyone else, however, might feel disenchanted by its repetitive gameplay, problematic motion control, and overall brevity.

Appealing to Toy Story fans and Disney World vacationers, but not much for the average player to find engaging.

Toy Story Mania! is yet another mini game compilation on the Wii and though the midway style of games are enjoyable at times, the game is far too easy. Couple that with the fact that more than half of the 33 different mini games are shooters and the $49.99 MSRP seems way too steep. It's unfortunate that a game based on a movie that holds up for all audiences could be limited to such a small range of gamers (kids 10 and under by my assessment) and at such a high price, it's hard to recommend buying it new (either wait for a price drop or buy it used).
IGN (Oct 26, 2009)
Toy Story Mania will make a great souvenir. It'll be on sale in the little gift shop right after Disney park-goers get off the Midway Mania ride, and it'll help them recall the fond memories of their vacation when they take it home and give it a spin in their Wii machines. It'll be fun for them. But a great theme park souvenir isn't necessarily a great game, or even a very good one in this case -- because if you don't have those same nostalgic vacation memories to help fill in for some of this package's failings, you're just going to be left feeling ripped off. Stay away from this one unless you're on your own Disney trip, or want to remember the last time you were. It's not worth it as a standalone game, because though you'll want to like it, you won't. It's just another collection of mini-games.
Impulse Gamer (Oct, 2009)
In conclusion, Disney have a fantastic franchise and it's a shame that they drop the ball every now and then and unfortunately Toy Story Mania! is one of those moments. The gameplay works at times, however it does become quite repetitive and of course there are some graphically issues with the game which does hamper the title. We know it's aimed at children but even kids need to have their games thoroughly tested by the quality assurance team. Consider the end of the rollercoaster ride.
Everyeye.it (Oct 22, 2009)
ZTGameDomain (Jan 22, 2011)
Unfortunately Toy Story Mania squanders its substantial potential through poor design choices and technical issues. While younger players may enjoy some of the games on display here for a while, eventually their repetitive nature will wear thin on even the most enthusiastic Toy Story fan. If you have young children who love the Toy Story universe, the game may be worth a rent. However, more discerning gamers should pass on TSM in favor of one of the better minigame collections on the system.

Toy Story Mania is a decent home version of the popular Disneyland and Walt Disney World attraction, but ultimately it’s just another lacklustre mini-game compilation for the Wii.
GameZone (Sep 14, 2009)
This October, the world will indeed experience a case of Toy Story mania when the first two films are re-released in theaters in 3D. But unless you're a collector of all things Pixar, Toy Story Mania! is not a game you'll want to own.
GamesRadar (Oct 01, 2009)
Ultimately, if your kids are in the 7-10 year old range, Toy Story Mania is in their wheelhouse. Savvier gamers will cringe, and the younger set will have too much difficulty with the controls and the objectives. It’s too bad, because with a few adjustments, it could’ve been something much better – and more appealing to everyone in the family.
Worth Playing (Oct 01, 2009)
Ultimately, I was really disappointed with Toy Story Mania! because I had hoped the developers tried hard to craft something more interesting than a series of unrelated mini-games. The mini-games falter because they're not fun to play for more than a few minutes at a time, and with little in the way of unlockable content or interaction with the Toy Story characters, I'm left wondering why they needed the license in the first place — aside from tricking moms and dads into picking up this mess of a game for their little ones. I'd avoid this one even if you're a die-hard fan of the series.
Game Revolution (Jan 25, 2010)
I played this game by myself and didn't like it. I played it with friends and they didn't like it. I played it with kids, and even they didn't like it (and kids will play anything). For a franchise like Toy Story, which has always been about appealing to all age ranges, that's a feat that would actually impress me if I weren't so distracted by the sounds of my childhood being cannibalized by Disney's corporate monster.
Gaming Age (Sep 22, 2009)
While I am sure some of you parents out there are thinking my review might be a little too harsh, or maybe I don't have kids so I can't see if from their point of view and that TSM will be better than I have written. Well, let me tell you, I have played many carnival games on the Wii in the past, I do have two young children that are of age to play this kind of game and I am just a giant kid at heart who loves video games. So, please believe me when I say this game is terrible. Don't waste your money.
