Computist (Feb 08, 2012)
Between the game’s single-player mode, the cooperative mode, and the multiplayer vs mode (which essentially sees you competing with friends to see who can take over the most amount of grid space), there’s plenty to do and all of it is fun. This is in addition to a very fitting/catchy soundtrack and a wonderfully quirky sense of humor. It’s got a couple hitches that keep it from being a solid game, but it is easily a hearty recommendation to any and all puzzle fans out there. Now if you don’t mind, I gotta move my couch back into the living room…

For a debut title, A Virus Named TOM does a lot of things right that seasoned veterans can often misjudge or struggle with. There’s no way you can come away from it without having smiled, and if you’ve got someone to play with locally the multiplayer modes are just wonderful. Games are judged upon many merits, but to me the most important is always whether or not I’ve had fun. A Virus Named TOM has given me more of that than I ever expected.

A Virus Named TOM is a decent little puzzler. Fans of the genre will enjoy it, and if you can play the co-op, you and a friend can have a really fun time taking on the challenges. Casual players may have a difficult time with some of the puzzles. If you’re like me, you don’t want to skip a level, you want to conquer it. This means you’ll likely end up playing the same level over and over again trying to figure out how to complete it. The difficulty spikes can be very brutal. Still, for ten dollars on Steam, if you’re looking for a good challenge with a simple concept, A Virus Named TOM may be just the game for you.

A Virus Named Tom is a great example of what you can come up with when you “mash up” existing gameplay models and build a solid storyline around them. None of its individual parts is particularly original, but put together in the way they have been, you end up with a synergistic success of a puzzle title that will test both reflexes and noggin-scratching abilities.

Short enough not to wear out its gimmick, with enough complexity that getting a perfect score will take a fair while, there's lots to like about A Virus Named Tom. It's not the greatest puzzle game ever, but it's owejiwjhkhkej DISREGARD PREVIOUS STATEMENT GIVE ALL YOUR MONEY TO THE CUTE LITTLE VIRUS.
Vandal Online (Aug 08, 2012)

I don’t know. I’m not really sure. If you look hard enough A Virus Named Tom has glimpses of charm, but it does little to claim that it is anything more than just a way to pass the time.
Calm Down Tom (Aug 16, 2012)
A Virus Named Tom is not an elaborate game. It is fun for anyone who loves solving puzzles. Misfits Attic are ambitious planning to release the game on Linux, Xbox, PlayStation and Onlive, but right now the Microsoft Windows version is currently the only one available. The lack of online co-op play mode could also be developed in the future if there is sufficient interest. Until then, this is an enjoyable game and from start to finish it is fun to solve encrypted puzzles and try to get golden medals.
