Overall APB Reloaded plays out like a large game of cops and robbers and has a free price tag you simply can’t resist.
Ten Ton Hammer (Jan 10, 2012)
All Points Bulletin has improved drastically from its original launch, but isn’t necessarily the MMO Grand Theft Auto we’ve all been looking for. It’s a fun time-waster that the free-to-play crowds will have a blast with, while the dedicated MMO and Shooter fans may still turn their noses up at APB:R. If you like the above-the-shoulder online shooter and want to have some casual fun, then APB:R might be the game for you. But if you’re hoping for a solid RPG experience too, then you may find yourself disappointed.
PC Games (Germany) (Jan, 2012)
Game Watcher (Jan 23, 2012)
It’s quite apt that APB: Reloaded opens with a screen that declares it ‘in memorium’ for previous developer Realtime Worlds. Although GamersFirst has done a good job in papering over the cracks and relaunching APB as a freemium title, it’s still very much cast in the same ill-fated mould that its now-departed creators originally intended, and it’s an experience that carries its cops-n-robbers formula into an online world with varying degrees of success. Crucially, you’re not paying for all those mis-steps along the way though (unless you want to), and that’s a decisive difference.
Multiplayer.it (Jan 25, 2012)
Come nuovo inizio comunque, è moderatamente incoraggiante.

GamesRadar (Jan 06, 2012)
It's honestly heartbreaking, because many of the game's ideas teeter on the cusp of being revolutionary. As is, however, All Points Bulletin: Reloaded fires far too many blanks. Free is a tough price to turn down, but the city of San Paro is – at best – a vacation spot. We simply can't recommend an extended stay.
PC Gamer (Jan 28, 2012)
Most of APB’s problems remain in Reloaded. It even inherited a few new ones, as it is currently seeded with cheaters. The original game was arguably killed too soon, so the switch to free-to-play means interested parties should at least take a weekend city break back to San Paro. But this is no revitalisation – APB Reloaded is rehash, replication, and repetition.
GameSpy (Dec 10, 2011)
GamersFirst has done a bang-up job ironing out the numerous digital kinks that helped doom the original version of the cops-versus-robbers MMO (and its creator, Realtime Worlds), but APB's poorly designed core mechanics, namely its woefully unbalanced combat system, remain. APB has been reloaded, but this is one shooter that still fires blanks.
1UP (Dec 16, 2011)
While Gamersfirst has done more than anyone could have asked with what they had, nothing can do much to change the fact that APB is just a bad shooter in its bones. Whether the cops or the robbers win a matchup is still mostly dependent on who gets there first and camps out with line-of-sight to the objective. Lack of locational damage means hitting someone with a sniper shot is going to make them half dead whether the bullet hits someone in the face or the ankle. Other than the tweaks mentioned earlier the vast litany of complaints we had about the game the first time around still stands.
Armchair Empire, The (Feb 06, 2012)
The original release of the game was an interesting (but not great) concept hobbled by atrocious execution, and it seems like the people who went in trying to rescue it have managed to make things worse in an overall sense. There was little to recommend the original game. There's even less to recommend its second act.
Calm Down Tom (Jan 05, 2012)
So where does that leave us? A multiplayer driving and shooting game where the driving is completely unplayable and the shooting is bad. Despite all the good stuff that surrounds the game, and the strides forward that Reloaded Productions have made with listening to the players, the core gameplay is still just not good enough. Zero points for the driving, two for the sub-standard combat and a bonus point for all the great customisation.
GameStar (Germany) (Nov, 2011)
