Because he's funny. Honestly Mom, picking Joe out for making fun of someone is slightly unjust. After all, you have been silent in other cases - including those where you make fun of someone.

It doesn't seem at all funny to me - it's more like petty meanness, and for no reason at all except to be mean.
And I can't really say I've ever made fun of anyone, except spammers.
Edit - if you're thinking of "Rachel", well, she would fall under the heading of spammer!
