The game was initially not released in the US because TopWare was sued by Interplay for copyright infringement towards the Interplay franchise Battle Chess. It finally was released over a year later in US with a title change to Check vs Mate in August of 2012. Interplay won the case (TopWare discharged their lawyer) in November 2012 and received a settlement of over $200,000 plus interest.
