Jednak sama gra od początku do końca trzyma w napięciu i warto ją przejść choć raz - by poznać całą historię opowiedzianą w Bioshocku.
Gaming since 198x (Aug 23, 2009)
Game Revolution (Aug 21, 2007)
Bioshock is that rare game where the plot, environment, and combat are all steps above the normal video game experience. Games at their very best, like this one, can create amazing alternative worlds for us to inhabit, doing those things we can't do in real life. This is one product the free market should be very happy to have.
Game Shark (Sep 11, 2007)
System Shock and its sequel are both regarded as two of the best and most influential games ever made. They also were duds in terms of sales. BioShock needs to sell well. It really does. It needs to restore my faith in the consumer, because if a game like this doesn’t sell—and if BioShock ends up being yet another critically acclaimed game that the general public ignores then we’re all wasting our time writing reviews in the first place. Folks, this is just about as good as it gets.
100 (Aug 30, 2007)
To put it simply, BioShock is a brilliant game; one that sets the proverbial benchmark not only for first-person adventure titles, but also for all future games to come. And this is no flashing visit, with your stay in Rapture easily reaching 20+ hours if you don't rush through. But it's not just the fact that BioShock is a real looker, or the fact that as a first-person shooter alone it stands up to all of its competitors; it's the thought and craftsmanship that went into realising Rapture, its emotionally-jarring denizens and its compelling and seamless narrative that pushes you willingly forward from chapter-to-chapter.
A lot of critics are hailing Bioshock as a possible Game of the Year, and I am one of them. The former Irrational Games is back and better than ever. I’m just curious how life will be after Rapture.
These minor complaints mean very little in the end. There's nothing which will make you ever want to stop playing; you'll simply curse under your breath and get on with killing Splicers and hunting Little Sisters. There's also a core story which this review hasn't even touched on, and with good cause. 2K Games has remained notoriously tight-lipped on plot details and we'll do the same. But just what do those ghosts and surreal images which keep popping up mean? And what are those odd, chain-shaped tattoos on our protagonist's wrists? Could there be some deeper connection between the main character and Rapture than we are first led to believe? You'll have to discover these answers for yourself as you make your way through the murky depths and face the untold horrors of Rapture's darkest corners.
G4 TV: X-Play (Aug 23, 2007)
The gameplay itself should be enough to sell you on this game. If you were a fan of the original System Shock, or you really dug Deus Ex, then you should get a huge kick out of this game. But there’s so much else to admire. The art direction is outstanding; mixing art deco architecture, classic 1950’s graphic design and tons of great old music from the early jazz era that adds a musty creepiness to the overall atmosphere of the game. It’s definitely not your typical Space Marine fare, and that’s a very good thing. So if you really do believe in what the best games have to offer, then would you kindly play BioShock?
GamerDad (Aug 31, 2007)
Despite the 5-star score, Bioshock is not a perfect game. There are annoyances in the interface and problems with antivirus compatibility and installation activation woes, as well as a few weak moments in the narrative. But in terms of the actual gameplay these are very minor and do little to detract from an otherwise excellent experience. It is brutal, but not very hard as shooters go, so you don't even have to worry if your twitch gamer skills are up to snuff. Many people are calling this the best shooter since Half-Life 2 and comparins and contrasting the two. I think that is an excellent comparison because neither are particularly innovative in large terms but each delivers compelling narrative that is extremely polished and well done and changes the way you look at other games.
1UP (Sep 20, 2007)
So I have to admit: I got a little teary at the ending. I'm not telling you this to show you how deep I am or so that you can call me a sissy; I'm telling you simply 'cuz that's what happened. After turning me into a living arsenal for 20 hours, BioShock took about 15 seconds to utterly disarm me.
CanardPC (Sep 01, 2007)
With Bioshock, Irrational Games sat down, considered its work in System Shock 2, and essentially reproduced that game, removing the few flaws and adding about a cup and a half of awesome. As outstanding as System Shock 2 was, it occasionally failed to omit unnecessary words, while Bioshock is a study in elegance. Because of this, I’m being much harder on it; the better a game gets, the more harshly it must be judged. And since Bioshock is a really, really good game, it ought to go through the wringer.
Game Chronicles (Sep 13, 2007)
Whether you purchase the PC version or the Xbox 360 game you will be in for a treat for all the senses. BioShock is on the same par as those great classic films that have won awards for years and this one will for the video game industry. The combination of a great story and fantastic gameplay with wonderful scenery has been so well created into an all around well crafted game that it would be a shame to miss out on playing it.
Gameguru Mania (Sep 17, 2007)
Overall, BioShock is one of the best games ever made. Turn off the lights, crank up the volume, take your time and enjoy it. It's about the experience not the high score! I can easily say BioShock delivers the most rewarding and adrenaline-filled experience I have ever had with any action game!
GameSpy (Aug 24, 2007)
Those few PC quibbles aside, BioShock is a triumph, an absolute masterpiece that needs to be played by anyone with the slightest interest in gaming. It's a high-water mark not just for the FPS genre, but for the hobby in general. Since it's set at the bottom of the sea, it's perhaps ironic to say that it's the kind of game you want to soak in from start to finish and then play all over again. In the world of videogames, there's nothing to be more proud of.
Bit-Tech (Aug 21, 2007)
Important, gorgeous, dramatic? BioShock redefines what these words mean in the games industry, leaving past peaks like Half-Life 2 by the wayside. BioShock is quite simply a triumph that we cannot gush enough praise for. BioShock is, without exaggeration, the best experience I have ever had with a computer since I first got into games all those years ago with The Secret of Monkey Island. It is my new favourite game and the benchmark for all future titles.
Gamer 2.0 (Aug 20, 2007)
What is BioShock, then? It will challenge you, it will move you, and it will force you to make hard decisions. It is unbelievably immersive and tenaciously inventive. It is a game that sets the bar high for others to follow—for its art direction, narrative, and gameplay. It may very well be one of the best games to come out this year, and will surely be mentioned for a while to come. If you had doubts about how this game would deliver on its hype, you may now set yourself at ease. Irrational Games has delivered and then some. And you’d be a fool not to get your hands on this now.
Jolt (UK) (Sep 03, 2007)
Yet, that fear of an impending death never fades. The feeling of being watched, of being used, of being nothing but a pawn, balances perfectly with the game’s no-holds-barred approach to combat. It’s this mixture of ambience, emotion and plain old fun that sets BioShock apart from the scores of FPSes hitting the shelves this year. It’s neither perfect nor as revolutionary as some might make out, but it is one of the most progressive, gripping and downright fun games to hit the market in the last decade.
Video Game Generation (Sep 06, 2007)
From Plasmids to Tonics to weapon customization to researching enemies, BioShock’s grandeur is most apparent in the little things. Each game element and every level displays an inhuman amount of attention and detail, and I can imagine the sleepless nights the developers spent slaving away at their desks with only a dim light and caffeinated beverage keeping them company. Everything about BioShock speaks to its quality. In short, Bioshock takes players and makes them feel they are really in Rapture. The visuals, ambient noises, voices and story form a rusty hook that players will just love to run through their cheek.
GamingExcellence (Aug 27, 2007)
Stellar gameplay, graphics, audio, and cinematic narrative advance video game storytelling to a level you've never seen; moral choices have a huge impact on how the game is played; outstanding level design; incredible replay value; scary as hell; a deep upgrade system allows for RPG style character development within shooter-style gameplay; as much fun to watch as it is to play.
VGcore (Aug 24, 2007)
So what constitutes art? Well, no one can really answer that question. It is just one of those opinions that differ from person to person until a general consensus says that it is okay to define something as art. Sometimes it takes years for it to happen; sometimes a work will never be respected. All the elements are there in BioShock, and simply needs to be played and experienced to be truly appreciated. Arguments about art aside, it is one of the greatest shooters of all time, and a glimpse of just how far video games have come, if not where they are going to go.
98 (Sep 04, 2007)
To trzeba przeżyć! Jeśli nie zagrasz w tę produkcję, drogi czytelniku, uwierz mi, wiele stracisz. Bioshock jest genialny!
IC-Games (Aug 22, 2007)
When summing up, especially with a game so highly praised, it’s very hard to convince the more cynical gamer that us journalists were not promised unimagined wealth for our recommendations. With a game like BioShock however it’s easy; the game simply sells itself regardless of what anyone says. Without doubt, BioShock is truly a next-gen masterpiece, more than worthy of your attention. It simply blows everything comparable out of the water and for now we challenge you to find otherwise.
Netjak (Sep 15, 2007)
Overall, BioShock is definitely worth a purchase. There simply isn’t a better experience to be had on the PC. Even if you don’t have a PC that can run BioShock, consider picking up the Xbox 360 version. But don’t fool yourself; BioShock isn’t the greatest shooter of all time. Go in knowing that and you’ll absolutely love it. BioShock still has its flaws, but they pale in comparison to the entire package.
97 (Aug 22, 2007)
Bioshock has got everything that a great triple-A title needs, and it’s got it in spades. Intense combat, amazing and deep story, beautiful graphics, awesome sound – yes please. Add to that the level of customization and the multiple endings, and you’ve got something worth talking about. Is it a 10? Not quite, but it’s more than deserving of its spot as one of the highest scoring games at Game Almighty.
With so many things to do in Bioshock, it's a shame it is only 20 hours long. A game like this should be much longer, but you will immediately want to play the game over again to try and find everything. Bioshock could challenge every competitor this year for Game of the Year. With that being said, go out and buy this game, "Would you kindly?"
Chief (Sep, 2007)
IGN (Aug 17, 2007)
BioShock is Irrational's finest offering to date, as well as the swan song for the Irrational brand in a way, since they recently relinquished their longstanding and well-established studio name for the more corporate, faceless tag of 2K Boston and 2K Australia. BioShock is a first-person shooter set in the fantastically unsettling city of Rapture, a metropolis built under the sea by the megalomaniacal Andrew Ryan. Throughout your lengthy stay, you'll find options for combat as intricate and enjoyable as the story and characters are to interpretation, something that only a handful of games can ever claim to offer.
96 (Sep 06, 2007)
There you have it. Bioshock is without a doubt the most immersive FPS currently available and the only slightly negative comments we can give are things that we won’t see in games for many years to come.
BioShock is an expertly crafted game in every respect, a truly worthy successor to what's considered one of the PC's greatest games, and a game that, we feel, will be a milestone in PC gaming. Never has the medium been used as a storytelling device in such a beautiful and engaging way, and never have we been drawn so deeply into a game world.

Cheat Code Central (Aug, 2007)
Ultimately, Bioshock is a blast and probably the best game I've played this year. Some of Bioshock's storytelling techniques are unprecedented and will perhaps set a new standard for storytelling excellence in gaming. It doesn't hurt that Bioshock's great story is framed by incredible visuals and solid controls as well. Overall, Bioshock is a game that you don't want to miss out on unless you're easily spooked.
GamesCollection (Apr 03, 2008)
AusGamers (Aug 28, 2007)
This "intricate" story, ultimately, becomes the driving force behind moving through the game, which given how much there is to do within Rapture outside of the narrative, is an unbelievable feat. BioShock, for the sum of its parts, is easily the game of the year thus far and there seems to be very little - in my opinion - on the horizon as poignant as this to derail it from that perch. Beyond 2007, I can't foresee a gameplay experience as rich, balanced and robust as this. BioShock really is the game "that keeps on giving" thanks largely to the fully realised game-world and the incredible marriage between interacting with it, its denizens and your accrued weapons and abilities, but beyond all of this, the experience is so much more worth it for the incredible narrative, story and pacing. An absolutely masterful piece of game design and a title that further proves games are fast becoming art and not just a pastime for kids or so called nerds or geeks.
YouGamers (Aug 28, 2007)
Bioshock is nothing if not entirely engrossing. An example of perfect narrative pacing, the game has intense combat with a unique weapon system. The story pulls you in and doesn't let go, and user choices help to drive the plot. No detail was left untouched in making the game a cohesive and polished finished product. While it's not a genre-busting pioneer, the gameplay in BioShock won't disappoint.
Gamernode (Aug 20, 2007)
BioShock is all about placing yourself in a wonderful, heavily detailed environment filled with memorable characters, cool enemies, and creepy atmospheres reminiscent of an HP Lovecraft tale. If you're looking for another run 'n gun game to play while you chug down a few Cokes, you'll probably be better off not picking BioShock up. If you want a good game you can play in the dark, immerse yourself in, and love well-crafted plots and great writing, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't go get BioShock tomorrow morning. (Unless you don't have the money - that's a good reason). It's exactly what we all said it would be, and that's a very rare feat to accomplish.
GameZone (Sep 04, 2007)
BioShock is one of those games that truly make a strong case for video games as a proper art form. The world is as robust and detailed as anything you’ll see in a movie (if not more so), and the sense of suspense never wears out, keeping you on board for a thrill ride from beginning to end. No gamer should miss out on this one.
TTGamer (Aug 30, 2007)
The atmosphere, the story, the unique execution of the gameplay, the fact it never feels like a console port; everything on offer here is top notch 'PC Game of the Year' grade stuff that, like the System Shock series before it, should be in every PC gamer's collection. The difference this time around, however, is that thanks to the efforts of 2KGames and the more pre-release aware gaming world we live in, BioShock has a real chance of actually achieving this. If there is a game out there seeing release in 2007 across any genre that can top this truly spectacular unique experience, then we may have the best year ever for PC gaming on our hands, because BioShock is really just that good. There is some room for improvement for any future sequel to make this series truly epic, but make no mistake, you must go and get BioShock, even if it means a stop by the PC store for an upgrade first.
95 PC Gaming (Apr 19, 2008)
BioShock is the game we've been waiting for years for and, for System Shock fans, about a decade. BioShock shows how far this industry has gotten and reconfirms videogames as the best form of entertainment out there.
Hry Sme (Sep 07, 2007)
Bioshock snúbi dizajnérske umenie, top technické spracovanie, neuveriteľný cit pre detail a emocionálne prežívanie s hŕbou ďalších superlatívov (viac než) dostatočne ospevovaných vyššie. Zostáva len želať si, aby sa herný priemysel čoraz častejšie uchyľoval k tvorbe obdobných produktov.

PC Gamer UK (Aug 16, 2007)
Regardless, BioShock is a dark and astonishing masterpiece. It might not be as flawless as Half-Life 2, but it bites off so much more and accomplishes it all magnificently. Even if you've soaked up every preview and trailer with relish, you haven't scratched the surface of how deep this unsettling meditation on hubris and insanity actually goes.

Whatever the reason though, this adventure at the bottom of the sea is one of the most extraordinary experiences you will ever come across. And for those who will think that the fate of one of the main characters is disappointing or downright stupid, consider this: „A man chooses. A slave obeys.”
We could carry on writing this review for ever, such is the richness of this game, the sheer amount of stuff to see, the hacking of security systems, the touching interplay between Big Daddies and Little Sisters, the list just goes on. No, instead imagine a game with the wit and believable characters of Half Life 2, the moral choices and weapon/skill pallet of Deus Ex and the unique and complete universe of STALKER. Imagine a game that is greater than the sum of all those parts, and you have Bioshock!
FiringSquad (Aug 21, 2007)
Yes folks, we have played BioShock and we loved it. The minor flaws in the game's design didn't keep us from having an all night session to get to the end and we think that will be your conclusion as well. It's still mid August but it's going to be tough to find a game that will match BioShock for fun, originality and visual style in 2007. We will be waiting to see if any other game released this year will come close to it.
Just RPG (Oct, 2007)
Without a doubt, BioShock is a shoe-in for hordes of Game of the Year nominations. It’s certainly among my favorite titles of the year, and I highly recommend it to all gamers, whether you’ve got an Xbox 360 or a gaming PC. If you haven’t played it yet, then I suggest you at least go out and give the demo a try.
PC Games (Germany) (Aug 22, 2007)

Кусайте локти, недальновидные господа, — вы проворонили кандидата на "Game of the Year".
Worth Playing (Sep 01, 2007)
While not exactly perfect, Bioshock is not to be missed. From the superb visual design to the enchanting audio soundtrack, this futuristic period piece is a delight to play and accomplishes a rare feat for a video game: It leaves you with plenty of weighty existential questions to think about.
Game Captain (Aug 31, 2007)
Game Over Online (Sep 04, 2007)
Fortunately, all these flaws do is put a minor blemish on a well-formed diamond. This metaphor is a bit more meaningful than usual. BioShock is one of the best games of 2007 for any platform, not so much because it offers new wonders - there are a few - but as a result of meeting high standards, as any diamond should. For its price of admission, BioShock will definitely please you.
Gamezoom (Sep 02, 2007)

It's here and in stores! BioShock, the first big game of the second half of 2007, is here on Xbox 360 and PC. I've already reviewed the Xbox 360 version of the game, and from a non-technical standpoint all the great music, action, and RPG choices to make are here here. Unfortunately, so are all the problems that you see in many major PC game releases including crashes, copy protection issues for legitimate buyers, and performance iffiness for computers closer to the minimum spec.
GamingXP (Aug 29, 2007)

The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay încoace.

Ultimately, BioShock takes us on a ride full of varied and physical combat, well-handled plot exposition, and absolutely excellent graphics and setting, gives us a weak final section and then leaves us. Whilst there may be no multiplayer, and that final section is irritating, BioShock nevertheless makes quick work of 2007's weaker shooters like STALKER and provides one of this year's best experiences on any platform.
Boomtown (Sep 17, 2007)
Regardless of these flaws, large or small, Bioshock remains a wonderful game in so many ways. The graphics and art direction, the slow unveiling of the story of Rapture’s fall, the sheer creepiness of it all, and the gameplay which, quite often, makes almost every shooter until now seem rather dull in comparison.
Daily Game (Aug 22, 2007)
The atmosphere, high-level concept, graphics and audio are all phenomenal, and they more than make up for occasionally repetitive gameplay. You owe it to yourself to experience BioShock, by far one of the most compelling games of 2007
Minor flaws - so long as you treat them as such. BioShock could be bigger, it could be more exhaustive and it could be more varied. But it isn't, nor does it try to be. BioShock is a sublimely crafted, beautifully written and staggeringly enjoyable action game that, aside from a few small blips, stands head and shoulders above the majority of its peers. It's a resounding statement of what the medium is capable of, and - outside the world of Gordon Freeman, at least - you'd be hard-pressed to find much better.

UOL Jogos (Aug 31, 2007)
Trying to usurp System Shock II in the scary stakes is no easy feat, and whilst Bioshock doesn't quite manage to replicate the fear I remember in 1999, it does have its moments. Plenty of times I found myself eager to progress, but at the same time, terrified to take a step further in fear of what lay ahead. Bioshock does deranged very well, from start-to-finish it's a veritable freak-fest, yet deals with sensitive subjects such as the deluded Adam addiction that Rapture has fallen into, the concepts of greed and corruption even in a utopian society.
Gamigo (Aug 28, 2007)
GameSpot (Aug 22, 2007)
While on the surface it might look like little more than a very pretty first-person shooter, BioShock is much, much more than that. Sure, the action is fine, but its primary focus is its story, a sci-fi mystery that manages to feel retro and futuristic at the same time, and its characters, who convey most of the story via radio transmissions and audio logs that you're constantly stumbling upon as you wander around. All of it blends together to form a rich, interesting world that sucks you in right away and won't let go until you've figured out what, exactly, is going on in the undersea city of Rapture.
PC Powerplay (Aug 29, 2007)
Out Of Eight (Sep 13, 2007)
If you like single player first person shooters, then BioShock is a good one to play. BioShock makes the shooter experience deeper than the typical game, due to the successful blend of varied weapons, ammunition, spells, and power-ups. The setting is very memorable and distinctive, unlike all of those World War II games. While experienced players might fund BioShock to be too easy, the difficulty level makes the game appeal to a much larger audience. The various strategies you can employ, coupled with the Big Daddy battles, elevate BioShock above the rest of the pack. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t come with multiplayer and the copy protection scheme is extremely annoying and restrictive. Still, most fans of first person shooters or simply games in general will find a unique and fun experience.
GameStar (Germany) (Aug 29, 2007)
Computer Bild Spiele (Sep 05, 2007)

Overall we were deeply impressed with Bioshock for the PC, but do wish that the developers had made available the toolkit used in its construction - I shiver contemplating what the fan community could make from its art and building resources. Unfortunately, like many PC/Game System hybrids, such extensibility is sorely limited, and hurts the game's replay value. Still, we think that fans of the FPS genre who crave a good dose of story and fear will enjoy Bioshock, at least for the first play-through.
Games Finder (Mar 23, 2014)
BioShock walks the fine line between FPS and RPG and has plenty for fans of both genres. While the RPG features aren’t overly deep the atmosphere the game creates and the combat flexibility more than makes up for it.
Even with its lack in enemy variety and weak difficulty, Bioshock makes for a must play single player adventure. The story is just too damn intriguing to pass up. It doesn’t matter if the battles start to feel redundant, because you will be too compelled to find out what is happening in this lost city of Rapture. And if the difficulty bothers you that much, there have been mods created that enhance the difficulty greatly, making it a very difficult game indeed. Let’s just hope that an expansion will allow for a multiplayer mode. How fun would it be to freeze your friends and send a Big Daddy after them?
85 (Aug 30, 2007)
Edge (Aug 30, 2007)
BioShock offers a lot of quality beyond the problems that exist within it. But its a game of if only. If only the mechanics matched the atmosphere. If only Rapture was a less linear world to move through. If only BioShock was the wholly brilliant experience you know, from your moments within it, it could have been.
Game Critics (Sep 12, 2007)
The entire game even carries with it a none-too-subtle critique on Ayn Rand's Objectivist philosophy—Ryan's staunch adherence to individualism and rationality is both the genius of Rapture and its ultimate downfall. But regardless of whether players agree with—or even pay attention to—the game's philosophical underpinnings, there's still a great deal of humanity in the storyline with well-developed characters and clever plot twists. It's unfortunate that much of it is merely wrapping though; the combat, the role-playing, and the morality all could have been much better fleshed out to create a truly inspired work of art, but ultimately they feel incomplete. But while BioShock's gameplay may not be as evolutionary as Andrew Ryan would have made it, its dramatic storytelling and imaginative vision still elevate it above its more primitive peers.
This is a very fun game and has a great story behind it. It’s definitely not for kids or the faint of heart. I wish there was an option for enabling swear and gore filters. I also wasn’t too comfortable dealing with the little girls in this game, which might be compounded by having two young girls of my own. The multiple endings and various difficulty levels add to the game play since there is no multiplayer. The pretty visuals make me look forward to other games using Unreal Engine 3 coming out soon.
