IGN (Nov 05, 2013)
Call of Duty: Ghosts isn't a reinvention of the franchise, but proves there's still room for innovation within its existing formula. Though at the risk of overcomplicating things at times, its robust multiplayer gameplay, surprisingly fun co-op modes, and lengthy, challenging, and varied campaign makes Ghosts one of the best Call of Duty games to date.
JeuxActu (Nov 05, 2013)

For now, though, the overall Ghosts package hits almost all of its targets - for hardcore and casual shooters alike.

Hooked Gamers (Nov 17, 2013)
If it ain’t broke, don't fix it, right? The issue is that while there are a few additions, Call of Duty: Ghosts actually takes steps backwards, nullifying advancements of its predecessors. It’s the game’s potential and the knowledge of what could have been that stings the most here. In an industry with dozens of titles vying for the top spot in their genre, stagnation is a death sentence, and I fear that without a change on par with the Modern Warfare revolution that rose the series to where it is, the spirit of Call of Duty is destined to soon become no more than a ghost.

Ghosts, in and of itself, is a fine game. It ticks all the boxes and then blows the boxes up in glorious 1080p resolution (on PS4 at least). Those who only ever play COD will be more than happy with it, but those who have grown weary of the series will see more of their ambivalence justified this time around. Infinity Ward had a chance here to throw down the gauntlet for the next hardware generation, to set the new standard, to show that this hugely popular, much derided behemoth can dance to a different tune. It's chosen to play a Greatest Hits package instead.

Enjoyable but highly flawed. Replace South Americans with Russians and it's every other entry in the series. Call of Duty Ghosts won't win over new fans, but neither will it loose the faithful. Parody runs high, but I doubt my words will sway you either way: you know if you're going to buy this piece of software, regardless of any review.
PC Gamer (2013)
The campaign is exciting but only passively entertaining, and the multiplayer tweaks the knobs of established Call of Duty games to little effect.

Call of Duty Ghosts fires some rounds, hits the target, just not a bullseye
Atomic Gamer (Nov 13, 2013)
I know that Activision won't listen to a guy like me, but I'm going to spell it out anyway. Infinity Ward needs idea men, and they need to get off of the CoD franchise for a while. Let the guys that aren't already stuck in the DLC-making sweatshop take a month or two off, then get them back in the offices refreshed and new, possibly with some new hires, and have them come up with some big ideas for next-gen hardware - then let them spend a few years making something entirely new. Hell, maybe let Raven stretch their legs and give a whole new CoD game a shot instead - after all, they've been making first person shooters for more than 20 years now. Maybe we can see Infinity Ward back making a new Call of Duty in 2017 or so? How's that sound, guys?

Call of Duty: Ghosts –
PCGamesN (Nov 11, 2013)
Call of Duty: Ghosts offers very few reasons for all but the most obsessed fans to take a look. Most of the time it revels in being mediocre and cowardly by the numbers rather than outright terrible, though there are moments where it manages to be both. If this isn’t a wake up call, showing once and for all that churning out more or less the same stuff year after year only serves to dilute the quality of a franchise, then I don’t know what is. It’s completely shameless, and it’s undoubtedly going to sell phenomenally well.
If you’re a fan of the series, you’ll probably have already picked up Call of Duty: Ghosts. If, by some dark magic, you’ve managed not to, I implore you to forget about it unless you really want more of the same only done worse than usual. It’s occasionally entertaining, sure, but the PC port is horrendously optimised and is beset with problems throughout both single-player and multiplayer, and the entire game is very much Call of Duty by the numbers. I’ve generally enjoyed pretty much every Call of Duty since Modern Warfare – regularly defending their linear, rollercoaster nature, and the chaotic multiplayer – but this offers nothing new except a whole swathe of problems, and doesn’t even do the usual stuff all that well.
