God is a Geek (Aug 20, 2014)
Not all of the acting is perfect, admittedly, and the audio presentation won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but when it works Cloud Chamber is an absorbing, massive, occasionally unsettling, but absolutely compelling experiment in community narrative investigation. It will require dedication and perseverance to enjoy fully, but don’t ignore it, Cloud Chamber is the most innovative slice of interactive storytelling in years.
A tale full of intrigue and mystery, Cloud Chamber is built on interesting ideas in terms of both its mechanics and narrative. Due to the nature of the game, the community could fall apart once it’s solved, although the chance that it might end is exciting too — it means we’ll have closure on a great story, which is all too rare in MMOs. Right now, as it stands, Cloud Chamber is an impressively grand experiment that’s well worth your time and money. If this seems up your alley, don’t wait — get into it while the getting is good.

However, being one of the only alternate reality mystery video games in existence, it's still a worthwhile title to try out, at least for experiencing an unusual gameplay format and a whole new way to enjoy a multiplayer game.
PC Gamer (Aug 13, 2014)
Ultimately, I grew somewhat bored with Cloud Chamber about halfway through, and as the tiny bits of data trickled past it just didn't feel like enough of a story, or an interesting enough story, to fully fill its ten chapters. The restricted nodes, once unlocked, do add a considerable amount of new data to help define the characters and add some new insights, but I'm skeptical that unlocking content through the upvotes of strangers was the best design choice. At the same time, I admire the unusual format of the game and the attempt to make something different.
