IGN (Nov 08, 2006)
Speaking of its target audience, the developers did a great job actually making a game that women might enjoy. Since most of the people who watch Desperate Housewives are women, it follows that the audience for a game based on the show is women. It is easy to jump into, has some interesting plot points that will draw fans of the show in, and has high production values in several key spots that ensures they won't be turned off, like by poor voice actors or graphics glitches. The only area that might frustrate a novice gamer, which this title is likely to appeal to, is the movement issues and that definitely detracts from the enjoyment for a casual gamer. However, if players are able to overlook that and enjoy sensationalized stories, then Desperate Housewives: The Game might just be a good purchase (and maybe even a gateway game to bigger and better for the non-gamer!)
GamePlay (Croatia) (Jan, 2007)
Games Finder (Sep 14, 2014)
The game also adds in a number of mini games to make some game elements more hands on such as cooking and gardening. Desperate Housewives: The Game pulls off a good TV inspired game that will also please fans of The Sims games.
Video Game Generation (Aug 11, 2007)
Desperate Housewives: The Game is basically The Sims on Wisteria Lane, and that’s really the best way to handle a game like this. It’s not nearly as good as most entries in EA’s juggernaut franchise of course, but is a decent pickup for fans of the show.
Gameguru Mania (Jul 18, 2007)
The super-simple controls, drama-filled thematic scenes, and $9.99 (game originally costed $19.99) price point may appeal to the casual GIRL/WOMAN gamer :-) Just make sure you have a computer with plenty of memory (1GB ideally), and some patience to wait between episodes.

As soon as a series like Desperate Housewives conquers the world, a game and other marketing stuff start appearing in stores quickly. This version of the Housewives has surprisingly its good sides. In the end it hasn’t become the expected light version of the Sims but there are still some problems.
GameSpot (Jan 02, 2007)
A lot of games based on movie or television licenses are flat-out bad, either because they're not any fun to play or they don't have any new or interesting material in them. Desperate Housewives is a different story. You can tell that the developers at Liquid Entertainment, known for some solid and inventive real-time strategy games, really dumbed this thing down so that, presumably, a nongamer might like it more. That's a bit of a shame, but on the flip side, Desperate Housewives is fully competent fan service, basically a computer-game version of an unaired season of the show.
G4 TV: X-Play (Nov 28, 2006)
Desperate Housewives: The Game is cheapened, slightly, by rampant product placement. Every time your character washes her hands or throws a dark load into the washer, you're exposed to the name of some corporate sponsor. And at one point a plug for Bertolli frozen dinners comes out of your character's own mouth. Perhaps crass commercialism isn't such a big deal in a game about deception and infidelity. It's more than a little ironic that this morally ambiguous and fairly racy suburban simulator will probably never stir outrage. This could be a good thing. Desperate Housewives: The Game might be the experience that helps the Bejeweled set understand the appeal of Bully and Grand Theft Auto.
Gameplay (Benelux) (Dec 22, 2006)

Desperate Housewives: The Game.
