GAMbIT Magazine (Jul 06, 2014)
In conclusion, Divinity Original Sin is an amazing game that manages to merge the brilliant PC RPG’s of old and infuse it with many modern-day elements. It’s not a perfect game, but it sure has a lot less bugs and glitches that plagued Skyrim and critics showered that game with needless praise. I can’t recommend Divinity Original Sin enough and I just hope that other publications also take note of what I hope doesn’t end up as a hidden gem for the PC.
Co-Optimus (Jul 01, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin is all about the experience of the game. That experience can be done alone where you craft and shape each of the Source Hunters into the kind of people you feel they should be while at the same time devising your own strategies for how to overcome the myriad of foes that await you. Or, that experience can be cooperative, with each player expressing their own thoughts and feelings onto the Source Hunters. That cooperative aspect is what’s helped to make Dungeons & Dragons such a popular game over the years. What better way to tackle incredible enemies than with a friend?
Twinfinite (Jul 07, 2014)
Overall, Divinity Original Sin is a fantastic game. There is variety in weapons and abilities, and choices in the ways you solve your problems. The world is full of life: Every corner of the world has treasure, or curiosities like a bull that can tell your fortune, or even a severed head that still speaks. The combat is fun, with elemental effects turning large battles into sort of a puzzle, with your spells and abilities being just half of the pieces. The story isn’t as engaging as say, Baldur’s Gate II, but it’s still serviceable in support of such fantastic gameplay hooks. If you like isometric or turn based tactical RPG’s, Divinity Original Sin is the game for you.
Pixel Perfect Gaming (Mar 27, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin is an outstanding game that does the series justice. It maintains all the beauty of the previous releases without compromising their integrity, and it delivers the type of gameplay that strategy gamers crave.
StopGame (Jul 17, 2014)
Quarter to Three (Jul 14, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin has a lot of secrets to stumble over. Hidden rooms and sidequests are just part of the story. It’s a joy to find new ways to interact with the world Larian has created. From getting a dog’s help in tracking a killer, to crafting voodoo dolls by putting together a wooden figurine with a needle and pixie dust, you’ll be doing new things all the time. The most creative turn-based combat seen in an RPG, combined with a dash of humor, has resulted in a fine stew of gaming. Plus, the game has something important to say about life: “No one has as many friends as the man with many cheeses.”
Games Finder (Jul 05, 2014)
For unmatched character creation, non-linear adventuring, troves of loot, dialogue paired with impactful decisions and co-operative gameplay Divinity: Original Sin delivers.

GameOver (Greece) (Aug 08, 2014)
Πρόκειται για ένα από τα καλύτερα tactical RPGs που έχουν κυκλοφορήσει αυτό τον αιώνα και θέτει με αξιώσεις την υποψηφιότητά του για Game of the Year.
Polygon (Jul 31, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin seems to pride itself on embracing these contradictions — complex yet approachable, nostalgic yet modern, cliché-ridden yet strange and singular in so many ways. It captures the feeling of a classic '90s PC RPG but simultaneously turns each assumption about plot, setting and combat mechanics on its head. I never expected a tiny, Kickstarter-backed team in Belgium to create one of the deepest and most unforgettable games I've played all year. But Original Sin clearly isn't playing to expectations.
Kanobu (Jul 11, 2014)
Softpedia (Jul 06, 2014)
It might have its limitations, but it’s still probably the best modern rendition of a classic PC role-playing game, one that is born out of love, and one that will surely stoke long-dormant passions for the genre, as well as spark some new ones.
Hooked Gamers (Jul 09, 2014)
Long in the making, Divinity: Original Sin offers the beautifully deep intricacies of an old-school RPG that does not in any way feel old-fashioned. What a great and unique experience.
Overall, Divinity: Original Sin is a massive RPG in scope which takes on our usual tendencies for RPG's and smashes them high and wide. The combat is a massive breath of fresh air, the story is enjoyable and expansive, the music is fantastic while the length of play is large. If you enjoy RPG's of any kind, you'll love Divinity: Original Sin.
ActionTrip (Jul 28, 2014)
Suffice it to say, there’s absolutely nothing arousing about this game and yet it made me stop surfing for porn – for a bit. I’d call that one hell of an achievement.
Meristation (Jul 15, 2014)
Everyeye.it (Jul 11, 2014)
Mouse n Joypad (Jul 04, 2014)
From the ashes of a relatively unknown franchise rises a new Divinity game. One that is sure to please every RPG enthusiast out there. It ships with loads of great gameplay systems and offers everything we've come to expect from the very best titles of the genre. Even more so – in the form of co-op. Without any hesitation, I can conclude that this is going to be an RPG-of-the-year contender.
Games TM (Aug 14, 2014)
For all our praise, Divinity: Original Sin isn't perfect, with cumbersome item selection and occasionally unclear quest updates being among the most annoying. Still, they're not game-breaking, and when you consider how well Larian is supporting Original Sin, these issues may have already been patched by the time you read this. It's one of those rare Kickstarters that does everything it originally promised. Yes, it lacks the polish of the biggest triple-A games, but it has heart, and it feels alive. It's a wonderful love letter to the halcyon days of RPGs, but also creates new standards for others to follow. In short, it's incredible.
Games Arena (Jul 14, 2014)
Complex, inteligent, lung.
Eurogamer.pl (Jun 30, 2014)
W Divinity: Grzech Pierworodny widać pasję twórców i radość, jaką czerpali w trakcie tworzenia gry.
Eurogamer.it (Jul 09, 2014)
Eurogamer.net (UK) (Jul 09, 2014)
Certainly, I have no hesitation in recommending Original Sin to RPG fans old and new, provided that you're up for a challenge from very early on and don't expect to romp through, Diablo-style. While Skyrim is obviously more freeform and immersive, and the likes of Mass Effect are more cinematic, Divinity: Original Sin is hands down the best classic-style RPG in years. It's obviously not Ultima 8 in name (and that's probably for the best, because the Ultima 8 we got in reality was bloody awful). It is, however, in every way that counts, the best successor ever to those classic journeys to Britannia, and a triumph on its own terms as a modern RPG with no shortage of fresh ideas.
Gamer.no (Aug 27, 2014)
We love it!
Gamer.nl (Jul 17, 2014)
PC Advisor (Jul 20, 2014)
Whether solo or co-op, this is a game in which you’ll quickly lose yourself to sharp, funny writing, an excess of optional pursuits and an elaborate, explosive combat system that’s based heavily on the elements (freezing, burning, electrocuting). While there’s still competition yet to come this year (particularly Dragon Age: Inquisition and Pillars Of Eternity), Divinity: Original Sin has a great shot at being 2014’s best RPG, and thoroughly deserves its surprise success.
DualShockers (Jul 19, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin is a western RPG that dives head first into the nostalgia pool; while it doesn’t exactly reinvent the contents, it manages to make its own ripples. Larian Studios put a lot of love and polish into this title and it shows in nearly every facet, from the characters to the world building to the graphics to the finely tuned combat system. While it has a few hiccups, they are nothing compared to the sheer wonder and joy players will experience exploring and influencing this vast land.
Dealspwn (Jul 16, 2014)
An incredibly deep and engaging RPG, Larian have delivered one of the finest RPGs of the last decade in a paean to player choice and freedom, all presented with the knowing smile and cheeky wink we've come to expect from them. Divinity: Original Sin might prove a little overwhelming for some, but old-school RPG fans will absolutely adore this.
Den of Geek (US) (Jul 21, 2014)
Judgement day for Larian Studios arrived on June 30 after a prolonged Early Access period on Steam. You can put the pitchforks away. Divinity: Original Sin is a deep, modern RPG that feels like an old classic. Its open exploration and complex combat and crafting give the player a freedom of choice rarely seen in the genre over the last decade.
GameSpot (Jul 19, 2014)
To play Divinity: Original Sin is to fall in love with role-playing games all over again. It's tempting to label the game as an immediate classic simply because it recalls the days of Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment, a time that many role-players still look back on with much fondness. It's true that Original Sin has the trappings of those memorable gems: an isometric camera perspective, an adventuring party of four, magic spells and pubs to relax in and an intriguing fantasy kingdom that captures the imagination. What makes this game so special, however, is that it avoids slavish devotion to those games of old and instead tells a tale very much its own--a tale of conflict between the elements that plays out in electrifying turn-based battles, and a real-world tale of loyalty, in which game and player establish a bond born out of patience, perseverance, and the promise of joyous surprises in every crevasse.
Games.cz (Jul 15, 2014)
We Got This Covered (Jul 15, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin is a modern take on the old school RPG mechanics, offering a level of freedom that many of us had long since forgotten. Fans of the genre should consider this a must-play.
Gamereactor (Finland) (Jul 11, 2014)
Boasting a huge open world to explore, over 100 hours of gameplay and not the slightest suggestion how it should be tackled, Divinity: Original Sin is remarkable. I can’t recall the number of times I was curious if I could do something a certain way only for the game to shrug its shoulders, pat me on the back and encourage my exploration while it hid behind the nearest barrier just in case something went wrong. The lack of hand holding will most likely turn off genre novices and difficulty could be a bit more consistent, but beyond that, my complaints are just me wanting more. With so much already on the table, though, I feel like a greedy fat kid at Thanksgiving dinner pounding and shouting for seconds. Luckily, the included editing tools promise just that, and it will be exciting to see what the community can add to an already outstanding experience. Put on your +1 cape of adventure and go pick up Divinity: Original Sin now, because it'd be a sin to miss out on something this good.
NowGamer (Jul 14, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin is challenging, rewarding and compelling. It proves that classic isometric RPGs aren't nearly as dead as publishers would have you believe. It has minor flaws, but they'll likely be gone in a few weeks - leaving a fantastic example of the genre.
PCGamesN (Jul 11, 2014)
When I play Divinity: Original Sin, I’m back in my parents’ study, gleefully skipping homework as I explore the vast city of Athkatla. I’m overstaying my welcome at a friend’s house, chatting to Lord British. And it’s not because the game is buying me with nostalgia, but because it’s able to evoke the same feelings: that delight from doing something crazy and watching it work, the surprise when an inanimate object starts talking to me and sends me on a portal-hopping quest across the world. There’s whimsy and excitement, and those things have become rare commodities. Yet Divinity: Original Sin is full of them.
Game Informer Magazine (Jul 08, 2014)
We are currently amidst a great resurgence of PC RPGs that borrow from the greats of ages past while taking advantage of modern quality-of-life improvements, graphics, and sound. Divinity: Original Sin isn’t just a great turn-based RPG, it stands tall on its own as an amazing title where players can truly blaze their own paths through the world as elemental wizards, crafty rogues, and brutal warriors.
Vandal Online (Jul 13, 2014)
Multiplayer.it (Jul 04, 2014)
Game Revolution (Jul 10, 2014)
Trying to describe Divinity: Original Sin in words only gets one so far. I've spent plenty of time with the game and still feel like I've only scratched the surface. In fact, I didn't even mention the art style and soundtrack, both of which are fantastic. It comes down to this: Fans of old-school PC RPGs that don't hold the player's hand and focus on depth and freedom will adore this game. Audiences without that experience will also find something to love in Divinity: Original Sin, because depth and player freedom never become dated.
Absolute Games (AG.ru) (Jul 16, 2014)
IGN (Jul 15, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin is one of the most rewarding RPGs to come along in years. Its quests and combat compelled me to think hard about my actions and choices, which is more than I usually get to say about contemporary RPGs. Its depth, personality, and combat challenges easily allow it to hold its own against the likes of heavyweights like Dragon Age: Origins. These systems invite constant experimentation throughout dozens of memorable hours of combat and cheeky storytelling, and its rich modding toolkit provides the framework for enjoyable player-made adventure for years to come.
RPGFan (Jul 30, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin will test your patience, skill, and the limits of your love for flawed creations. If you can get past the brutally difficult and mechanically confusing opening, you'll find a rewarding experience created in the tradition of old computer RPGs. One that, for all its wonders, manages to be maddening at times and soporific at others. If you're tired of hand holding and exclamation points above NPC heads, if you want a challenge, if you grew up playing classic computer RPGs and haven't been properly sated in years, you might find a new addiction with Original Sin. Just be warned that its enchantment grows dim at times, though any brush with wonder is worthwhile.
IGN Germany (Jul 18, 2014)
PC Gamer (Jul 11, 2014)
A little obtuse in places, but otherwise this is the best new RPG in years. Demands your time and your brain, but it's worth it.
GameStar (Germany) (Jul 11, 2014)
TechRaptor (Jul 09, 2014)
Overall, Divinity: Original Sin is one of the truest RPGs ever made, not only one of the truest in a long time. Larian Studios deftly put a world in place for you to just interact with in any way you see fit. The only places that Divinity: Original Sin lacks are those that do not facilitate player autonomy. Their greatest efforts were put into parts of the game that allow for you to do whatever you want. If that doesn’t excite you as a gamer, I don’t know what will. There is so much more that just couldn’t fit in here and you will have to experience for yourself (like getting the ability to talk to animals). Honestly, it’s probably fair to say that this is one the best things to come out of Kickstarter.
Bit-Tech (Jul 25, 2014)
It’s this failure to respect the player’s time that prevents Original Sin from being the full on classic I so desperately wish it was. Whenever it has you doing something, Original Sin is an absolutely brilliant game, the best RPG since, oh good grief, probably the last Mass Effect. But when a game demands this much time from the player, it needs to ensure it’s making full and complete use of it, and the lack of streamlining in navigation and party management prevents Original Sin from achieving this.
Destructoid (Sep 08, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin is an amazing RPG experience. It falls a bit flat on characterization and writing on occasion, but nails just about everything else. It does a great job of compelling players to roleplay their on-screen characters, putting the "RP" back into RPG. This is a game that any fan of the genre will adore, and is sure to suck in new players and teach them what the genre is all about. It's a love letter, and deserves to be loved back.
GameFront (Aug 06, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin turns in an impressive performance in the world of RPGs. It’s familiar enough that you can easily pick up its basics, while being original enough to require you to pay close attention to learn its idiosyncrasies. Much like the tabletop games from which it seems to draw inspiration, Original Sin is the type of game from which you get out what you put in. It rewards players willing to dig into its systems, and will punish those who don’t. While it does have some off-putting, tedious inclusions, overall it’s a solid RPG that’s worthy of the isometric legacy it claims. Add in the readily available mod tools, and you can bet that Original Sin will be around for quite some time.

While in my opinion it has a few flaws that hold it back from true all-time-classic status Divinity: Original Sin is an excellent, beautifully designed and engaging RPG that absolutely never gets boring. The main story could be better told, companions could be more interesting (and just more), and while refreshingly free it could at least offer some better directions for important things or highlight crucial items. Nevertheless the inventive and always unique combat, the witty and humorous writing, the two player characters, the thoroughly engaging world and the sense that you're allowed to do whatever you want to keep Original Sin in the realms of must-play territory. It's also absolutely huge: it took me 23 hours just to discover the next area of the map (and I hadn't even finished exploring half of the surrounding area of Cyseal)! Whether playing single-player or co-op it's utterly great, and while not quite RPG of 2014 any self-respecting RPG gamer absolutely has to buy this game.

Divinity: Original Sin is able to both channel the roots of its old-school RPG ancestors such as Ultima and Baldur’s Gate, while also improving the genre as a whole in the process. From start to finish, Divinity: Original Sin is an incredible experience that is full of deep and engaging roleplaying. The true turn-based combat is a breath of fresh air in an industry obsessed with quick satisfaction and it brings you back to a time of tactics and thought. The roleplaying potential presented in quests and dialogue options puts Divinity: Original Sin decidedly above its peers in most aspects, but leaves room for improvement down the line. Larian Studios is on a strong path to returning their long-running franchise to the spotlight, for fans both new and old.
Divinity: Original Sin is an excellent call back to old school RPGs like Baldur’s Gate and from start to finish was a fun adventure with a deep strategic combat system backed up by fantastic role playing mechanics. While it does have it’s fair share of performance issues and the game’s difficult learning curve is a strong obstacle to overcome for newcomers, underneath it all lies an excellent role playing experience and an adventure that lays out a world filled with tons of activities to do and plenty to explore.

(Early Access beta version)

GamingTrend (Aug 11, 2014)
All in all, Larian has created a great foundation to build upon, and a solid game within that. However, it still feels unapproachable for gamers who don’t come to it already wanting to like it. The constant patching of disfavorable elements does make a good thing better, but also punishes players who may already be too far along to appreciate it. The co-op option is fun for people who have solid gaming chemistry and definitely adds to the experience, however the tactical precision the gameplay requires may not mesh with random pairings. Eventually Divinity: Original Sin might find it’s most blissful balance, but right now it really needs to be considered a work in progress.
Giant Bomb (Aug 21, 2014)
Playing Divinity to its lengthy (if predictable and stretched out) conclusion is a journey unto itself, an exhausting odyssey. The game asks much of players but rewards with them genuine, earned satisfaction. Even now, I could recite whole battles to you, days after the game's credits rolled. During one thrilling moment, I was literally biting my nails while a turn progressed. As victory became reality from the final blow, I tore off my headphones and screamed into the night. There are few games like Divinity in 2014, but it absolutely deserves to be here.
APGNation (Jul 06, 2014)
Over all, I actually had a lot of fun playing Divinity: Original Sin. I think that this RPG has a lot to offer gamers who are fans of oldschool western RPG’s like Baldur’s Gate or Diablo and those who are fans of the mod community.
Paste Magazine (Jul 29, 2014)
Original Sin wears its references on its sleeve so much that it is mostly sleeves, but the whole-cloth mechanical additions are worth paying attention to. If you like tactical gameplay, then Divinity: Original Sin is a solid experience. If you want amazing writing that doesn’t read like licensed Dungeons and Dragons fiction, look elsewhere.
Trusted Reviews (Jul 15, 2014)
With more than 80 hours of gameplay and a toolkit to create your own levels Divinity: Original Sin harks back to the golden age of single player RPGs. This is a very good thing. If you’re tired of the raft of hack-and-slash or first-person fantasy games out there then it’s definitely worth giving the barrel of fun that is Divinity: Original Sin a go. If you’ve never played games like Baldur’s Gate or Ultima before then you might even discover a genre that you’ll adore forever.
RPGamer (Aug 03, 2014)
Fans of old CRPGs will absolutely love Divinity: Original Sin. The modern improvements, new ideas, and abundant care from Larian Studios make it the best classic-style CRPG ever made. Those fans should take this review as a 5/5 and play the game as soon as possible. Unfortunately, for less tradition-oriented gamers, for those who disliked '90s WRPGs and Infinity Engine games, Original Sin intentionally put itself on the fence. It has enough old-school annoyances to make it tricky to universally recommend, and the methodical pace — there were times where I played for five hours and felt like nothing was accomplished — lack of quest pointers, and lack of guidance overall will exclude a large subset of RPGamers despite the strong battle system. Unless one of the older mechanics is a total deal breaker, there are enough improvements here that even someone who dislikes CRPGs could find a new love in D:OS. It's not as modern as Dragon Age: Origins, but it's worlds ahead of Baldur's Gate II.
Joystiq (Aug 01, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin is an unashamed timewarp, a beast unrestrained in dragging old-school RPG values into the modern day. The concessions it makes are often by-products of the things it pursues, qualities like agency, depth and challenge. The game is so loaded with depth that, like an inventory-laden hero, it's almost crippled by it, teetering over the abyss of complexity and perplexity. What keeps Original Sin grounded is turn-based combat that's consistently a joy. Its symbiosis with the sheer scope of the game raises the whole thing to heady heights that harken back to another age.
Game Over Online (Jul 29, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin is a game that seems like it was made in self-contained modules and only thrown together at the last second before launch. They created an amazing combat system, they designed a respectably interesting and diverse world to explore, they packed said world full of quests, they created a hierarchical spell and item system, and they wrote a ton of dialogue. But like a jigsaw puzzle that’s created one piece at a time, when all of the pieces are finished, not all of the edges line up correctly. While playing, the phrase that kept running through my mind was “less than the sum of its parts.”
Gameblog.fr (Jul 07, 2014)
Explosion (Jul 08, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin has a lot of good ideas and mechanics which serve a specific audience. For players who like to interact with everything, explore everywhere, and speak with everyone, you are going to find a crazy amount of content to indulge in. Not all of the content is well-explained or interesting, but when the roadblocks of Original Sin rear their ugly head, you can usually find help from the vibrant community which has flocked to the Divinity’s hardcore RPG systems. There are tricky puzzles, annoying difficulty spikes, and unexplained mechanics, but devout fans of fantasy RPGs will likely find something to love in Original Sin.
Cheat Code Central (Jul 08, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin is an homage to a RPG style that as long since faded, with the genre now flooded with overblown storylines and photorealistic cinematics. Yet there is still a strong audience that has been clinging to the hope that a quality turn-based fantasy would reappear. Larian Studios has delivered on our wishes by providing a world ripe for discovery, and gameplay that gives as much freedom and roleplaying options as we could ever hope for.
Game Critics (Sep 11, 2014)
As much as I loved the bulk of the game, by the end I was burning out, and burning out fast. Despite that, I'm glad that some studios are still willing to show an almost insane level of ambition in realizing the games they want to make without compromise, even if it does lead to a few dire moments here and there.
Only Single Player (Jul 15, 2014)
I see Divinity: Original Sin as a good first step in reintroducing games that don’t hold your hand so much and leave you to figure out what it is you have to do. While it is a bit rough around the edges, most of the game is so well-made and there are enough great ideas on display here that I can overlook most of the issues. If you’re looking for a lengthy hardcore RPG with engaging and deep combat that doesn’t treat you like you’re an idiot, don’t hesitate to pick it up.
New Game Network (Jul 19, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin is a detailed and engrossing RPG with great combat and a healthy dose of charm, but the weak central narrative, goofy tone and myriad moments where you don't know what to do or where to go greatly mar the experience.
God is a Geek (Jul 28, 2014)
A game that does well as a single-player RPG, and does well as a vast, exploration-based semi-open-world adventure, but excels at neither. Better than many of the RPGs in its ancestry, it nonetheless suffers from frustrating NPC engagement and lacks the intelligent storyline required to make it a classic of the genre.
Kill Screen (Jul 16, 2014)
Dragon Commander was a strange idea, but it was clearly an idea. I’m not sure Original Sin has a clue what it’s about, beyond “feeling like an old game.” It gets more strung out as you go along, introducing towns that feel curiously bereft of quests and dungeons padded out with tedious switch hunts. There’s no strong character to center it, no perspective to ground it, no consistent challenge to weight it. It’s an impressive novelty, but it fades fast.
GameStar (Germany) (Feb, 2014)
(Early Access alpha version)
The Digital Fix (Sep 04, 2014)
It feels like there’s a very good game inside Divinity: Original Sin, but it’s hidden away behind a thousand glitches and gameplay problems. At its core there lies an enjoyable experience, and those brave enough to reach it will likely sing its praises. If you’re willing to battle through obscure systems, poorly designed menus, gameplay issues, a legion of bugs and glitches, and poor support from Larian Studios, you just might find something worth playing. For most, however, it will be a different story. Video games are a form of entertainment, but unfortunately, as the problems mount and mount, this one veers more towards frustration than entertainment. Ultimately, it’s difficult to recommend any game which provides more negative moments than positive ones, and that is precisely the kind of game you’ll find in Divinity: Original Sin.
Gameranx (Aug 01, 2014)
It’s many decisions like these that keep Divinity: Original Sin from being a truly great game, and more along the lines of an average one. Even things like balancing issues with blacksmithing, skills and abilities, and food items that provide no significant bonuses, only show off the incredible lack of polish. However, it’s by no means a terrible game. There’s a ridiculous amount of fun to be had with combat alone if you can look past these issues. There’s even a co-op mode that will add some re-playability. Nonetheless, Larian Studios had plenty of ambition with this game, but just couldn’t live up to the hype.
Just Adventure (Nov 14, 2014)
After playing for about 60 hours (yeah, I really wanted to like this game), I realized it felt like I’d spent 40 of those hours moving flowers and boards and clams from one character’s inventory into another. Yes, the flowers and boards and clams can be used in crafting, but no, it isn’t worth the trouble. Playing Divinity: Original Sin is fun like cleaning the underside of your platform bed is fun. I realized this and stopped playing the game.
Rock, Paper, Shotgun (Jul 11, 2014)
The journey has been a long one and I’m pleased that the ending is a happy one. At the beginning of these thoughts I said that the role of critic can be kind and fulfilling. That’s because for all of the ideas that I admired in that early build more than a year ago, I suspected that the best of them might fall apart as the game grew in size and complexity. Against strong odds, Larian have fulfilled the early promise and the extra time, effort and money has all been invested wisely. The sausage has become a steak, succulent and flavoursome, and I have a new toy to play with and return to over the coming months and years.
Diehard GameFan (Jul 22, 2014)
Divinity: Original Sin has lived up to its huge expectations and then some. Larion Studios has delivered a huge game with strong emphasis on exploration and interaction. There is also an element of encouragement to roleplay with your own avatar, which adds a unique and fun spin to the game. The combat is what drives this game the hardest, as it’s both rewarding and exciting in how it challenges you. The game will take hours upon hours to complete for just the main quest alone, and there’s a ton of side quest as well. The issues, like glitches, a poorly implemented interface and nonexistent barter system, don’t detract from the excitement that Divinity: Original Sin offers you. Larion Studios has delivered one of the best RPG’s in years. Divinity: Original Sin easily stands side by side with other great games, like the Fallout series, Neverwinter Nights and Baldur’s Gate. Definitely not an experience you want to pass up.
