While BioWare is well known for their strong role-playing games, it’s perplexing how they were able to reach this level of quality with Dragon Age: Inquisition. It’s one of the most overwhelming experiences on the market, containing not only the best character development found in any RPG, but an open world that’s actually polished. The artistic and visual fidelity help with the immersion, but it’s the branching, player driven storyline and exquisitely layered combat system that create something special. Even with the staggering amount of dialogue and lore, newcomers to the franchise will have no trouble hopping right in, while old school fans will undoubtedly grin at the various call backs to past events. There’s even an enjoyable small multiplayer mode to participate in that’s entirely separated from the main campaign. Like a good hundred hour long novel that never lets up, Dragon Age: Inquisition is so engrossing you won’t be able to put it down.

I've heard people in the industry compare video games to medieval cathedrals. Those massive structures required coordination from so many different disciplines: architects, masons, painters, mosaicists, glass blowers, sculptors. Video games must also fuse the talents of many different craftsmen and artists: composers, sound designers, level designers, systems designers, visual artists, animators, programmers, voice actors, writers and storytellers. Just like the Notre Dame, you can tell when all of those disciplines are meshing together to form a video game that will be remembered for a long time. Dragon Age: Inquisition is a masterwork.

In my 70+ hours with Dragon Age: Inquisition, there were a ton of little moments and call backs to the previous games, and while many of them could be considered fan service, not a single one of them felt cheap or unearned. These little bits of joy, when added together with the great story, present a treasure so startling, that I was actually sad when I closed the book on the story. There are not many games that gave me that kind of pause, and fewer still when, after 70 hours, the only thing I can think of is wanting to jump right back in, with a new character, just to see what changes when I go a different way. Despite some minor hiccups, Inquisition is absolutely the realest of deals, and should be missed at your own peril. Though I never thought them to be gone, all other take note: BioWare is back.

Mόνο που εδώ αποτελεί συνοδευτικό απεριτίφ για το κυρίως γεύμα και σε λίγο καιρό, η ίδια ιδέα (καρμπόν) και πιθανώς η ίδια ενσάρκωση (με άλλο lore) θα πωλείται ως κανονικό παιχνίδι ή ως freemium ή ως κάτι άλλο τέλος πάντων από αυτά που εφευρίσκει καθημερινά η βιομηχανία. Δεν είναι κακό σε καμία περίπτωση. Τουναντίον, θα το χαρακτηρίζαμε ως ένα ευχάριστο διάλλειμα. Αλλά μόνο διάλλειμα και αφού έχουν επενδυθεί οι απαιτούμενες παιχνιδο-ώρες στο Inquisition. Τότε ναι, είστε ελέυθεροι να υποδυθείτε ένα πράκτορα της Leliana ή του Three-Eyes και να δείτε από κοντά μία από τις Operations που ως εκείνη τη στιγμή παρακολουθείτε μόνο από το στρατηγικό χάρτη του War Table. Και μόνο ότι το Inquisitionέχει ένα ολόκληρο παιχνίδι μέσα σε ένα άλλο παιχνίδι (που δεν το λες απλά «παιχνίδι» αλλά λέμε τώρα…) κάτι φανερώνει για τον όγκο που προσφέρεται στο δισκάκι του Dragon Age.

Dragon Age Inquisition is de nieuwe trots van BioWare en met uitstek de beste RPG die in tijden is uitgebracht. De game heeft simpelweg alles: een stevige portie goede gameplay, prachtige grafische kwaliteit en een verhaal dat Dragon Age Origins voorbij streeft. De multiplayer co-op is een leuk extraatje, al zal niemand de game daar daadwerkelijk voor kopen. Kortom: bereid je voor op een verslaving die je honderden zalige uren gaat kosten.

Wanneer je Dragon Age: Inquisition in zijn geheel bekijkt, is het een waanzinnig uitgebreide game en zodoende vooral heel veel waar je geld. Je hoeft niet te wachten op The Witcher 3 voor de nieuwe standaard van het role playing-genre. Inquisition is vanaf nu de lat waar iedereen aan gemeten wordt.

Graficznie Dragon Age: Inkwizycja prezentuje się fenomenalnie. Twórcy gry świetnie wykorzystali silnik Frostbite 3 i przygotowali prawdziwą ucztę dla oczu. Szczególnie dobrze wyglądają wszelkie efekty zaklęć oraz elementy krajobrazu. W żadnej innej grze nie widziałem tak rewelacyjnie wykonanych wodospadów oraz lasów. Niby drobne elementy, a potrafią cieszyć oko nawet po kilkudziesięciu godzinach spędzonych na takiej zabawie. Jedyny większy mankament to absolutny brak destrukcji otoczenia. Nie możemy nawet roztrzaskać stojącej przed domem beczki, która aż prosi się o potraktowanie toporem. Jest to o tyle zaskakujące, że gra powstała na tym samym silniku, co Battlefield 4, w którym zniszczyć mogliśmy niemal wszystko. Przesiadka z Diablo 3 czy Dark Souls może fanów destrukcji zaboleć.

Dragon Age: Inquisition rappresenta una notevole dimostrazione di forza da parte di Bioware, che non solo riesce a dare nuovo lustro alla saga, ma propone una gestione tattica innovativa e molto personale per i videogiochi di ruolo. Pur partendo da basi ben note, il sistema di combattimento si rivela originale nel suo saper alternare aspetti action e strategici, adattandosi efficacemente a diversi tipi di pubblico e piattaforme. Aggiungendo a tutto questo una quantità e qualità dei contenuti offerti con pochissimi rivali nel genere, il risultato è un GDR d'eccezione, complesso, profondo e scritto con grande abilità. Il principale aspetto negativo rimane il Frostbite, che si conferma un motore non facile da piegare a determinate esigenze, sebbene i lunghi anni di sviluppo abbiano permesso una discreta limatura degli spigoli, che relega gli angoli non smussati a posizioni tutto sommato marginali per il godimento dell'opera in sé.

By offering such a breadth of content and then giving the player great freedom, Bioware greatly risks overwhelming many players - but that risky scattershot approach has, I feel, paid off here. If you're the type of player who loves that kind of freedom, you're in for an incredible treat. It's certainly the best Dragon Age has ever been.

Dragon Age: Inquisition este un joc impresionant, fantastic, teribil, uriaş şi puternic -- exact aşa cum sunt şi dragonii ce îi străbat în zbor hărţile imense. Povestea nu are suficientă inerţie pentru a face din antagonist un personaj malefic interesant, dar se concentrează în cantităţi potrivite pe relaţiile dintre eroii Inchiziţiei. Explorarea, crafting-ul şi luptele sunt foarte bine realizate. În plus, are un factor de rejucabilitate imens.

Coming off the back of the divisive Mass Effect 3 and the unfairly maligned Dragon Age 2, expectations were almost unreasonably high, and the hype built up to astronomical proportions. People expected another failure. Yet BioWare had a point to prove, and with Dragon Age: Inquisition it has rallied from its previous disappointments to deliver a near-flawless fantasy experience of staggering scope, mending the oft-broken hopes of a gaming nation alongside its own reputation as the foremost purveyor of adventuring. As 2014 draws to a close, Inquisition is a contender not only for game of the year, but for the best title to come out of BioWare’s impressive stable - either way, it’s an essential purchase for any RPG fan.

Regardless of how you feel about Bioware, you owe it to yourself to give Dragon Age: Inquisition a try. It’s a great game from start to finish, one that lets you do just about whatever you want, and then rewards you for just about all of it. While it does have some minor problems, they don’t detract from the quality of the whole. The way the world responds to, and builds itself around, your character makes Inquisition a must-play for any RPG enthusiast.

Inquisition fühlt sich über große Strecken vertraut an, und macht dabei doch vieles anders. Das fällt zum Beispiel bei den Kämpfen auf - die versprühen enorme Wucht und bieten bei actionreichen Spieleinstellungen auch ähnliche Rasanz wie im Vorgänger. Aber eben nur fast - dank der einstellbaren Taktik-Kamera etwa, die durchaus auch ihre Macken hat, und dem integrierten Block-Barriere-Gesundheitssystem stand oft genug die Taktik an vorderster Stelle in meinen Kämpfen. Zusammen mit den ganzen anderen Inhalten - dem Crafting, der eigenen Festung, den intensiveren Gesprächen und vieles mehr fühlt sich Inquisition auch nach zig Stunden für mich ein bisschen wie ein schwer zu zähmendes Biest an. (...) Inquisition ist ein dicker Brocken, der mich beständig auf Trab hält. Nicht alles dabei ist fehlerfrei oder gar perfekt für den PC umgesetzt, bietet aber bislang das für mich intensivste Dragon Age-Erlebnis in der Spielreihe.

When I’d finally slain my first dragon in Dragon Age: Inquisition, I felt a little sad at the thought that I was probably beginning to exhaust its seemingly endless stream of content. But then I saw the quest ticker: “Dragons Slayed - 1 out of 10.” In all my hours, I had only ever seen three. It’s a surprisingly huge, dense world, and I soon realized there were still entire sandboxes I hadn’t even set foot in. Even in my hundredth hour, I’m still discovering. Despite its less than compelling plot, I still want to go back to explore and fight through every nook and cranny of Dragon Age: Inquisition, until every dragon’s skull is mounted on my wall.

There’s even co-op multiplayer, in the style of Mass Effect 3’s horde mode. As I write this, the servers are empty, and so I’ve been unable to test it. Whatever its quality, it doesn’t affect a singleplayer campaign that, all things considered, is a resounding success. How much you enjoy Inquisition will likely depend on what it is you enjoy about RPGs. If you want complex systems and hardcore challenge, it could potentially disappoint. I don’t. I want a rich world, interesting characters, and a dramatic and memorable plot. Judged on those criteria, Dragon Age: Inquisition sits happily alongside BioWare’s best.

There is no way within the scope of this review to cover everything that Dragon Age Inquisition is in terms of story, game play, visuals, combat, companions, romances, and everything else that makes up what can only be described as Bioware’s return to glory and as the preeminent force in the RPG genre. Dragon Age Inquisition is a must play for anyone who calls themselves a fan of role playing games.

Inquisition is an excellent return to form after the claustrophobic, rushed Dragon Age 2, an exciting and sprawling colossus of a game that rewards the player at every turn. The first act is a little slow to get going, but once the story has its hooks in you and the true scale of the world opens up before your eyes, it’s easy to forgive early problems with pacing and a slightly lacklustre combat system. It says something that after around forty-five hours of gameplay I was disappointed that the main plot was showing signs of coming to an end, and that as soon as I finished I wanted to start the whole thing over again.

Und er war, ganz nebenbei, auch auf dem PC ohne Fingerkrampf bedienbar. Klar, Inquisition hat auch neue Stärken - aber das sind nicht die Stärken eines Dragon Age. Ich mag es trotzdem, sehr sogar, und ich werde es nach dem Test gerne weiterspielen, um dieser fantastischen Welt auch noch ihre letzte Geschichte, ihre letzte Belohnung, ihren letzten Drachen zu entreißen. Und ich werde keine Sekunde davon bereuen.

In einer Zeit, in der man froh sein muss, nicht jede Quest einzeln als DLC verkauft zu bekommen, macht ein solcher Koloss umso dankbarer. Alleine deshalb lohnt es sich schon, Inquisition zu kaufen. Zudem gibt es - abgesehen von den Menüs - nichts, das ich geradeheraus als »schlecht« bezeichnen würde. Die Story unterhält, die Quests motivieren, die Dialoge sind ordentlich, die Charaktere und Geschichten ausgefeilter als in den meisten anderen Spielen. Und die Drachen sind einfach grandios! Ja, Inquisition ist ein rundum sehr gutes Spiel. Punkt. When I started playing this, for the first ten or so hours, I thought I was going to be giving this game an unabashed 90% or more. But the further I dug into it, the seams started to glare brighter and brighter. Does that mean it’s a bad game? Far from it. Dragon Age 2 was a bad, lazy game. Inquisition is a good game that suffers from a lack of editorial judgment and polish. Patches will probably fix the worst offenses it commits, and I would much rather play a game that reaches for the stars and comes up short than one that insults its players by repeating the same dungeon dozens of times. Once the crashes are fixed, I would fully recommend this game, even with all of my nitpicks. It’s too early to tell if this marks a turnaround for Bioware as a developer, but at least they’ve halted the downward momentum.
By now, you’ve probably read plenty of other reviews extolling the numerous sacred virtues of Dragon Age: Inquisition. You’ve possibly also read my early port impressions, in which case you’ll have noticed that – at the time, at least – I wasn’t actually very impressed with what was on offer. The cynics among you will be happy to hear that I’m still not especially amazed by Dragon Age: Inquisition, although it’s certainly a lot better than the early hours indicated.

Alerte! Une sorte de hype s'est emparée de la communauté des joueurs (enfin, plutôt des testeurs: il suffit d'ailleurs de regarder les scores des joueurs vs de la presse sur Metacritics pour s'en convaincre) autour de ce nouvel épisode de Dragon Age, qui a toujours quelques défauts de ses prédécesseurs et qui peine à sortir quelque chose de savoureux en dehors de sa trame principale. En tout cas, si vous cherchez un bon RPG, ce n'est pas vers lui qu'il faut se tourner, car ce n'est ni un RPG, ni un hack'n'slash, ni même un tour par tour. Un tactical-STR de gestion peut-être? On ne sait plus.

Mehr Spielplatz als Spielwelt: BioWare öffnet einen riesigen Erlebnispark zum Sammeln und Freischalten. Das Erlebnis ist hinsichtlich Story, Figurenverhalten, Quests, Erkundungsreize und Minispiele ernüchternd.

Ja, man kann man sich für 30 bis 80 Stunden in einem schier endlosen Freischalt- und Vervollständigungsfluss treiben lassen: Es gibt so viel zu bekämpfen, zu befreien, zu pflücken, zu basteln und auch zu entscheiden – nur dass sich dabei wenig auf die Geschichte auswirkt. Die potenziellen Erkundungsreize der schönen Landschaften werden früh von der Spoilerkarte erstickt und vieles wird schrecklich offensichtlich für Sammler verteilt - das Auffinden von Geheimnissen per Richtungsimpuls ist das Dämlichste, was die Kanadier bisher entwickelt haben. Das Kampfsystem schließlich ist nichts Halbes für Actionfreunde und nichts Ganzes für Pausetaktiker, aber bietet immerhin Komboreize in fulminanten Gefechten. Man wird letztlich in eine vollgestopfte Fantasywelt entführt, die einen für Wochen mit all ihrem Klimbim zum Surfen an der Oberfläche animiert. (Nov 30, 2014)
Итак, отвечая на вопрос, который был задан в самом начале - конечно, студия BioWare наконец-то исправила все ошибки прошлой части, смогли вернуть и вновь закрепить свою репутацию, которая подтверждает то, что они могут создавать действительно хорошие игры, где будет интересный мир и герои. Естественно, в Dragon Age: Inquisition есть ошибки, но их замечает лишь тот, кто до сих пор думает о покупке игры. Но вот тот, кто смело сел и играет, может точно заявить - в игре куча вещей, которые интересно изучать, поэтому все минусы перед этим просто испаряются как вода. Теперь BioWare подняли свою планку в создании игр, развязали свои руки и могут создавать игры, которые окажутся намного больше, насыщенней и с интересным контентом. Речь идёт о скоро встрече с новой частью Mass Effect, но это уже совсем другая история. Если ты фанат Dragon Age: Inquisition, тогда почему ты ещё не купил игру?
