I found the game itself to be very involving, and I lost a number of hours to quests, as one often feels that one more quest won’t take too long. The game ran well on my limited PC and I experienced no lag whatsoever whilst playing. Graphically the game looks great, with a very detailed world being created. The quests invloved a lot of fighting, as one would expect, but also a number of rather fun puzzles. I guess I have become used to not having to think much during my MMORPG’s. These puzzles came as a pleasant break from the action that fills the quests. Sometimes the camera can get a bit stuck, leaving you unable to see what is going on, but this is a minor niggle in what is an incredible game.

DDO is an easy taste to acquire, but an acquired taste nonetheless. Anyone looking for the sense of wonderment and exploration that your EverQuests and LOTROs provide will be disappointed. However, those who want their experience distilled to raw adventure itself will find a door-to-door dungeon crawl that satisfies if not elates, and continues to entertain far longer than many competitors, free-to-play or otherwise.
I won't hide the truth: I fell in love with DDO. The fact that it offered something different, that I could sucker friends into playing without them having to spend a dime to try it, and that the storytelling of the game felt so true to that of the pen and paper DDO lured me in quickly. It has thoughtfulness put into its mechanics and gameplay, and is friendly for casuals and alt-a-holics. More than anything, I was impressed with the enthusiasm of the team behind the game, who demonstrated more excitement about their own content than any game development team I've interacted with. DDO is not a perfect game, and has room for improvement. The new player experience still needs to be smoothed out, and a less lobby-like feel to the game would be a fantastic change in the right direction. For what it is today, however, it is a great game, and deserves a try. Yes, even for those who once set it aside years ago on its initial launch.
Ultimately, it is the flexibility of the micro transaction business model that makes this solid MMO worth a second (or first) glance. Give Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited a try. While not as big and epic an online game as World of Warcraft or Lord of the Rings Online, its dungeon crawling gameplay manages to capture a tiny bit of what made the Diablo series so popular for so many years. Besides, all it will cost you is a little time and hard drive space. Just make sure to bring a couple of friends.
Dungeons & Dragons may not be the best item in the market, but its roots starting out as a P2P subscription model shine through, and its graphical style is far more vivid than World of Warcraft. It is certainly enjoyable to play, yet starting out can be confusing and mundane. Essentially, I can understand why it did not survive in its previous rendition, but as F2P, I can see a good future for this title, after all it is free.

nach wie vor den Großteil des Spiels.
Neben der Erhöhung der maximalen Levelbegrenzung
von Stufe 10 auf 20 freuen sich
vor allem Einzelspieler über einstellbare
Schwierigkeitsgrade, die es nun ermöglichen,
wahlweise alleine auf Beutejagd zu
gehen. Die Solo-Abenteuer sind allerdings teils zu einfach geraten – hier ist noch etwas
