Just Adventure (Sep 22, 2010)
So what do we have here? We have a tribute to B-Movies with all of their desperate charm. We have a collection of superior puzzles which will make you feel really clever when you solve them. We have an independent developer who created a game which was more fun to play than many of the professional offerings out there.
GameBoomers (May, 2010)
The Filmmaker harks back to those games where around almost every corner there is another puzzle. You will be unlikely to finish this quickly. So in that respect, it represents good value for money. It won’t win prizes for its plot, but it wasn’t meant to. However, if you have a hankering for some good old-fashioned puzzling amid your exploring, you may very well find what you want here.
Adventures United (Sep 04, 2010)
The tasks and puzzles are not too easy and there are many types of puzzles to be solved in that game. In terms of graphics this adventure surely is not outstanding; however, the design is nicely done and appealing, especially considering the variety of settings in the different movies to be explored. The game atmosphere is well supported by the background music and features full voice-overs in good quality. Further there also are English subtitles available, to be activated in the main menu. The game is controlled from first person view using a convenient point&click mouse interface. It is highly recommended to frequently save the game, as one might face several game over’s after wrong actions. Technically the game was working perfectly fine (tested with WindowsXP) and provided an appealing and interesting gaming experience. It takes about 12-15 hours to complete the game and there are several Easter Eggs to be discovered.
Adventure-Treff (Oct 31, 2010)
Adventure Gamers (May 28, 2010)
The Filmmaker opens with a clever concept and offers plenty of puzzles, but is let down by some uninspired gameplay and minimal integration.
