GameSpot (Jul 03, 1997)
There are a few more minor problems with BB Pro '98 - the Braves' Turner Field isn't included, and there's no way to set up two leagues with three divisions of five teams each to reflect the realignment of MLB teams after the arrival of next year's expansion teams - but they pretty much pale in comparison to all the things the game has to offer. For hard-core baseball fans, Baseball Pro '98 dishes up everything except World Series tickets.
So, what's the verdict? Simply this: if you love stats and the idea of controlling every aspect of your team as a GM / Owner / Manager, you'll love this game. If you want the thrill of hitting home runs and running around the bases yourself, pick up Triple Play '98. If you want both, this will satisfy most of one, and a little of the other.

Was besonders Europäer freuen dürfte: Auch an weniger bewanderte Ballfetischisten wurde gedacht.
For those that are out there looking to take control over the arcade portion of a baseball simulation (hitting, pitching, fielding) then FPS: Baseball Pro ’98 might not be your best bet. On the other side, for those out there that want the best all around statistical tracking/managing baseball simulation, then you should not look much further than FPS: Baseball Pro ’98. This summer will see many new additions to some already successful simulations hit the shelves and FPS: Baseball Pro ’98 has a leg up on them already!
GameGenie (1997)
With its exclusive physics-based engine, the motion capture technology, it creates fluid, life-like player movements, exclusive multi-season career play so your players can be drafted, trained and age gracefully into the Hall of Fame, Sierra's own CAMS (Camera Angle Management System) and a VCR feature for play review from any angle in the ballpark, all 28 major league ball parks rendered in beautiful 3D graphics, MLBPA licensed, and player stats in over 2,000 categories.
More than a decade ago, with less technology and less powerful computers, EARL WEAVER BASEBALL had many of BASEBALL PRO '98s features and loads more fun. That's why it's in this magazine's Hall of Fame. FRONT PAGE SPORTS: BASEBALL PRO '98 is getting better, but it has a long way to fill EARL's shoes.
