DescriptionHeavenly Guardian is a scrolling shooter similar to the Pocky and Rocky series. The game's story involves Sayuki, the game's protagonist, who must save her beloved from a curse by finding the correct ingredients for a cure. The game can be played either singleplayer or multiplayer with another person. Sayuki is also followed by Toto, her pet snow rabbit, which can shoot freezing shots at enemies. The player can move Sayuki (or Sayuki's younger sister Koyuki in multiplayer) in any direction using the Nunchuck on the Wii or the Analog Stick on the Playstation 2. In two player mode, it is a contest to see which of the sisters can destroy the most ghosts and collect the most snowballs in their path. The Wii version offers you to shoot with the Wii pointer, but the Playstation 2 version eliminates this feature. There is also a boss attack you can play once you beat a boss.

Original IdeaThe game was originally going to be a Pocky and Rocky sequel, but Starfish-SD lost the Pocky and Rocky license due to Square Enix buying Taito. The game was originally going to be a PlayStation 2 exclusive game, then a Wii exclusive game, and then was eventually reworked entirely due to the loss of the license. Instead of being a direct sequel, the game was changed into a spiritual successor to the Pocky and Rocky series. To make the game a different game, the graphics and the theme of the game were completely redone.
