It's a shame that the developers couldn't at least warp an interface around the campaign; it feels kludgy, to put it mildly, to have to select the individual messages from a directory that doesn't even display them in order.
If you only want more missions, campaigns, and maps and would rather not create them yourself or download them from the web, Insurrection isn’t a bad call. I’m not sure I would pay the prices I’ve seen advertised so far, but if it got down around the $10 range it might be worthwhile. Personally, I just didn’t have all that much fun with the expansion, which is what my overall score is intended to reflect. Essentially it is nothing more than a collection of additional games created by some guys who learned how to use the campaign editor. Certainly there are elements of creativity here that can’t be discounted, but I have played a couple of missions I found on the web that were just as challenging and entertaining as those I found in Insurrection. The key here is “buyer beware.” If you are thinking that this is like the Dark Reign or Total Annihilation expansions, you’re wrong. It’s not a bad item but I found myself wondering how much the average player is going to enjoy this.

Starcraft: Insurrection is a hasty and unprofessional single- and multiplayer supplement for the popular real-time strategy game, designed to prey on those who cannot wait for the forthcoming official add-on, Brood War. Although authorized by Blizzard, Insurrection is nowhere near the original product in terms of quality. While it boasts three all-new single-player campaigns across 30 missions along with over a hundred multiplayer maps, none of these is particularly well crafted, and many are altogether poor.
