Much like the original Interstate '76, Interstate '82 has the player driving beefed up cars and blasting away the enemy with all the latest high-tech weapons, just with '80s cars instead of the '70s monsters. However, this sequel is a more action-packed title like the console version of Interstate '76, Vigilante 8.
This game requires an English/American language version of Windows 95/98. If you have a localized version of Windows, you can't install Interstate '82. Activision discovered this bug early enough to mention it in the manual (see system requirements) but never solved the problem.
Note: It is however possible to extract the gamefiles manually by going to the setup\game directory on the I '82 CD-Rom and unzip the file i82.zip
Soundtrack
The soundtrack of Interstate '82 features three previously unreleased songs by 80's band DEVO. The songs are: Modern Life, One Dumb Thing and Faster and Faster.
