The Digital Fix (May 02, 2013)
Yet one could argue that more complex puzzles would hold the players back from the full mysterious experience of Kairo, and that really is the overall essence of the game. It is hard not to love and be amazed by its cold dark world, particularly for anyone who pines for the days when games were still filled with such mystery. Everything about it is highly original and just wonderfully weird. It cunningly utilises its tiny budget to its own advantage to create a frightening atmosphere. The fantastic touches such as bizarre monoliths swinging around to your movement, or crazy bridges taking shape as you step across them or entire buildings being summoned before your eyes ensure Kairo is strangely uncomfortable, creepily crazy and ultimately highly memorable.

It leaves you with more questions than answers, but keep an open mind and Kairo will prove be one of the more enticing and captivating worlds you’ll ever explore.
Vandal Online (May 06, 2013)
Indie Game Magazine (Oct 23, 2012)
Even with all of its objective flaws and bits of missing polish here and there, I still find myself drawn to Kairo and the abstract nature of it. Perrin strongly portrayed a mood in the stone confines of the strange machines and I really liked it. It is hard for me to say whether or not to recommend it because it is a very different kind of game than most gamers are used to. If you are looking to try something different, it’s not expensive and is worth a dive into for $8.

Overall, Kairo is quite the thing. A wonderful piece of explorable, challenging artistry, a stunning collection of esoteric architecture, and a delightfully peculiar journey.
