DIXI.
Lego Media has clearly fashioned a real winner in Alpha Team. The extensive play testing the company did before its release has definitely paid off. There are no major deficiencies here, and everything about this release comes across as being both polished and balanced. I consider this, without question, the best action-puzzle release (even with its strategy and adventure elements) of the year. If you want a really sustained good time in a virtual environment chock full of innovative play, and are not afraid of getting a false image as a weenie for playing a Lego offering, you will love this game. I fear too many people will pass up the great time they would have just because they want to act adult.

A game with brilliant graphics and "Mission: Impossible"-like sound effects and theme music, LEGO Alpha Team is a winner for adults—but it's a little complex for the 8-year-olds it's geared to. The mission is to rescue five of the six members of the Alpha Team by strategically constructing and modifying mazes and obstacle courses. Even though Tee Vee, the team's sidekick, instructs players as they go along, kids might have difficulty avoiding traps and immobilizing security barriers.
