Graphically, LEGOLAND looks fantastic and once again almost looks like you are actually playing with LEGO. The beauty of LEGOLAND is that the game is a true 3D game that allows players to actually get close to the action that almost makes you feel like you are walking through a real LEGO theme park and truly brought back memories from our youths when MYER use to have LEGO exhibitions. The sounds and music from the theme park matches this title perfectly and I could not fault this title. The only downside to this title was trying to pry my seven year old nephew away from the computer in order to write these reviews.
Review Corner (Jul, 2000)
Simulations are unquestionably popular with children, and this title admirably allows younger kids the opportunity to play with ease. It is less challenging than other simulation software on the market, and the Lego theme is of course popular with kids ages 6-9. It is ideal for children a bit too young for more sophisticated simulation games, but old enough to work with and benefit from the problem solving and planning required to enjoy a simulations game. Lego fans in particular will appreciate working with familiar Lego themes based on some of the real-world Lego toys.
Insgesamt ein gelungener Versuch, jüngere Kinder in komplizierte Spielabläufe einzubeziehen.
Game industry News (GiN) (2000)
Overall, LegoLand is a very fun game and I highly recommend it to anyone with a Lego Maniac in their house. It combines the fun of Legos with the fun of building a theme park. And while it was developed for kids, I had a good time trying it out. It was especially nice not to have to wait until my nephews went to sleep to get to try it out. All that said, I am happy to give LegoLand a well earned 4 GiN gems.
Electric Playground (Apr 26, 2000)
Amid its minor flaws, this is the kind of game where it is easy to loose track of time when you play. After you get your park up, running, and turning a profit, you'll realize it's 2 in the morning and you missed watching Jerry Springer – again.
