I had a great time playing M25 Racer and I can heartily recommend it as good longterm investment. The tracks and sections of road make for interesting racing too, and a lot of effort has gone into the track design. Those who take their driving games seriously may be a little distressed to find that this game is really good. It's simple, yet has the replayability of an RPG. For some good old-fashioned arcade racing, get your copy now.
So, hardcore driving sim fans, ignore this game completely. M25 Racer is for people who don't have five hours to spend analysing which tyres are best in bad weather. If you've got ten minutes to spare and want to race madly around London, then this is the game for you. It's only 20 quid too, which, with fuel prices as high as they are, is probably the real cost of driving from Windsor to Greenwich.
Experienced games players will breeze through this without taking a breath. It's an entirely unpretentious racer that stands for all that is 'old school' in gaming, despite the polished (if slightly glitchy) graphics. Whether that is a good or a bad thing is open to debate, but if you're a racing novice looking for a slice of cheeky and irreverent driving action, M25 Racer has a few points in its favour. However it can't compete with more polished arcade racers, such as Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit.
