Math Blaster: Ages 8-9

Math Blaster: Ages 8-9 is an educational maths game in the Math Blaster series and it is aimed at children in the third grade based on the US curriculum. The story stars recurring characters in the series: Max Blaster and GC, and their robotic dog Mel. It starts when their computer is hacked by Dr. Zero who has launched a digital invasion of their metropolis. By participating in various mini-games Max and GC need to get rid of all the bugs in the system and reprogram everything to boot Dr. Zero out.

The included activities are:

• Bug Hunt: guide GC around a maze with an equation which fits the target range.

• Circuit Quest: guide Blaster, GC or Mel to floating chips while using the devices (according to their abilities) which control the doors, elevators and stairs. Afterwards, the player must place the chips in the code strings to correctly solve equations.

• Domino Bridge: build bridges.

• Musical Math: match geometric shapes to earn pieces of music and complete a song.

Completing these activities earns (resolved) bugs which can be stored in The Cache. To free more space, players must answer a series of equations before time runs out. The maximum space is 100. There is also a Bug Base where players can read about all the bugs. In a final activity, The Trap, the player must solve three-word problems correctly to reprogram the bugs. Once done, the player moves to the contraption building game using the bugs collected to eventually catch Dr. Zero using a claw. Some of the puzzles can be printed.
