TGG / The Gaming Ground (Jun 10, 2017)
@unepic_fran’s “Mini Ghost” is a fun little Metroidvania game with a classic MSX presentation and gameplay with plenty of stuff to customize (you can also share your creativity in-game design and online debauchery). So for a game that’s only $1.99, it’s most definitely worth a buy for yourself and your friends (if you enjoy messing with them in games). Sure, it’s not exactly a gateway to the Ghost series, but this cute adventure might at least get you to be a little interested in “Ghost 1.0” if my lengthy review of it didn’t.
Brash Games (Jun 05, 2017)
I can’t think of a single reason to NOT get Mini Ghost, unless you abhor retro games with a fiery passion. It’s fun, it’s got a decent playtime, it actually has a TON of replayability, and it’s polished. I own MP3s that have a larger data footprint, and you could run it on any computer made within the last 15 years. If you’ve got time and a little bit of patience for the game to gather speed, you’re gonna love Mini Ghost.
Hey Poor Player (May 05, 2017)
Mini Ghost is not for the faint of heart. It is not something you can idly play on your lunch break or when you have 15 minutes of downtime. Like other bigger games, you have to set aside time to play this little gem, but by all means is it worth it. What I like best about this tiny title is that it’s got something for everyone – for those that like to play with friends, you can troll them until they’re no longer your friends. For those that like to play alone (maybe after your friends have rage quit on you), you have an entire campaign that will take you back to the days of hand-mapping out your 8-Bit Metroid games. Heck, you can even customize your sprite to be Samus if you so desire. The sky is literally the limit here with this cute little gem, and it’s definitely worth the small, small price of $2.00 to check it out for yourself.
3rd Strike (Jun 15, 2017)
Mini Ghost is a smaller and more adorable version of Ghost 1.0 which is a true 8bit homage to the old-school metroidvania games of the 80’s. The game might be small in size and price, it’s still packed with a big heart. It offers a lot of customization options and content that will critically lenghten your playing sessions. Just like its predecessor, it still remains a blast to play and is definitely another great asset to your Steam library. Alas, it will mostly appeal retro fans who look to relive the old days as players unknown to the concept, will probably pass this game aside.
Capsule Computers (May 05, 2017)
If anything, Mini Ghost is another case of “more than meets the eye”. It’s deceptive in all the good ways. You first notice a small price tag and an achievement or two implying how the game can be blazed through in less than an hour. All of that could give you an assumption of a rather short and not so challenging game. Well, you would be wrong on both of those accounts. Mini Ghost also comes bundled with a level, character and a tileset editor. So you’ve beaten the game and found everything there is? Perfect time to make your own map now, along with a new character and share it on Steam Workshop. For me, it will take a while until I reach that point seeing how I’m 4 hours in and just barely got the layout of Zone 2. All things considered, with the amount of content you get for the current price, might as well grab it now.
Area Jugones (Apr 28, 2017)
