Molecats is a fun, light puzzle game that manages to get some very creative puzzles out of a simple and straightforward central mechanic. If you enjoy games where you shuffle bits of the level around it’s a solid choice.
If you love puzzle games then you’ll must certainly enjoy “Molecats”. Especially since the game has a “Lemmings” sort of feel to it, but with less explosions and more molecats. However, with the constantly increasing difficulty, you will need to really love this sort of games to be willing to continue with it.

If you don’t typically like puzzle games or the concept doesn’t really appeal to you, Molecats may not be for you. If Molecats’ concept sounds fun to you though I think you will really enjoy the game and I would highly recommending picking it up.
Save Or Quit (Oct 16, 2018)
Molecats’ controls were too unpleasant for me to enjoy playing the game, made worse with the lack of an active pause to carefully manage orders. It sits weirdly between “you need to think through the puzzles” and “think fast, the timings are tight”, so I doubt it will find an audience since it’s neither a quirky platformer nor a puzzle game that can be carefully and slowly approached nor a standard Lemmings game. If you are not put off by any of my complaints, you will find a weirdly charming game with lots of content to keep you busy for many hours.
Way Too Many Games (Aug 22, 2018)
Molecats is a mediocre puzzle game (or should I say mediopurr?) that it somewhat enjoyable in small doses if you’re just looking for a way to kill a little time. The game gets more and more frustrating as you progress, not necessarily because of the difficulty, but more so because of how mistiming certain obstacles will result in you needing to traverse through the entire level again.
Overall, Molecats is a bit of a “meh” game. Maybe there’s some kind of magic here that will appeal more to kids, but I’m just not seeing it. I won’t say the game isn’t structurally sound, but rather I just feel like it isn’t much fun. I could get around that if there was more challenge to the levels, but that isn’t the case. Finishing off my complaints is the asking price of $13 for what should really only be a $10 game, max, and even then I think that’s a bit of a stretch.
Gameplay (Benelux) (Sep 28, 2018)
Koddig, casual en naar het einde toe zelfs echt uitdagend. Een game om vrolijk van te worden.
