Operation Barbarossa: The Struggle for Russia
Description official description
Operation Barbarossa: The Struggle for Russia is a turn-based strategy game that depicts the Eastern Front of World War II in campaigns and single scenarios for both sides.
The gameplay is strongly influenced by Panzer General II and the graphics are displayed in a 3D environment. The maps are displayed with hexfields that represent est. 5 square kilometres.
There are two campaigns for the German side, Operation Barbarossa from June 1941 to December 1941 and Operation Blau from June 1942 to August 1942. The Russian campaign plays from December 1941 to April 1945. The campaigns are a string of scenarios each representing a historical battle. In the campaigns the player has core units that he can improve and upgrade. Units gain experience and grow stronger during a campaign.
There are also several single scenarios that cover additional battles.
A game editor for building own maps/scenarios is delivered with the game.
