In conclusion it is really difficult to describe the experience PGA Championship Golf provides you, but all I can say is that it's extremely fun. Be forewarned that no one but you is responsible for lack of sleep due to playing this game. Great graphics, awesome new technology, and amazing multiplayer game put this on the top of my golfing game list. So if your computer can handle it, head on out and hit the courses right now!
Gamer's Pulse (1999)
Ok, before I hang myself and get challenged by someone...I had a chance to review the newest golf release from Sierra Sports, and I must say this is one of the greatest and most in-depth games I have ever played. PGA Championship Golf 1999 takes you to seven of the finest and most beautiful courses on the planet. The courses include The Royal Birkdale, Sahalee Country Club, Pasatiempo, Black Diamond Ranch, Pete Dye Golf Club, The Prince Course in Hawaii, and finally the Coeur d'Alene Resort in northern Idaho. The gameplay is perfect, with complete control of the ball once mastery of Sierra's TrueSwing(tm) is accomplished.
Adrenaline Vault, The (AVault) (Jun 25, 1999)
What makes PGA a good game is not TrueSwing or ReadyPlay, or any of the other technological improvements that have been made. What makes PGA enjoyable is the fact that, rather than creating a technology model masquerading as a game, Sierra and Headgate have instead built on the foundation of technology with features and options that produce an enjoyable title and just happen to incorporate some pretty intriguing mechanics. If improvements had been made to the single-player aspect and if an adequate swing meter had been included, I would have had no problem crowning PGA as the new king of the links. As it is, PGA is still quite an accomplishment, and a good choice for those seeking something new in PC golf.
