Mega Score (Nov, 1997)
Chamou-se Loose Cannon, mas Postal fica-lhe a matar. Porque o mundo está a ficar assim. Postal. Perdão, mortal.
Absolute Games ( (Apr 21, 2005)
Reset (Nov, 1997)
7Wolf Magazine (Nov 15, 1998)
There's nothing quite like a multiplayer game with a bunch of little postal guys running around destroying each other with heavy weaponry. Postal also includes a level editor, imagine creating a duplicate of your own office as a little tension reliever. Bottom Line: Very good graphics - excellent transparency, flame, and smoke effects. Nothing but non-stop action from beginning to end. The single player game does get a little monotonous after a while, but if mindless action is what you're looking for, Postal delivers in spades. Multiplayer games have no comparison.

GameGenie (1998)
Damn, this is one feature-packed, realistic, sick and twisted game. And it's definitely not for little kids. The violence is realistic, not sugar-coated. If you ask me, sugar-coated violence is what's truly evil – we're just showing it like it is. So, what's the best feature of all? That's easy: awesome, addictive gameplay! Because beyond the visual and audio effects and the twisted story and all the other stuff, it all comes down to gameplay. And boy does these game have a ton of it.
Power Play (Jan, 1998)
Game Revolution (Jun 05, 2004)
Overall, the selling point of Postal is still its best feature - unabashed anarchy and a willingness to go where other games haven't. The gameplay is average; really no new ground is broken, and at its core this is just arcade style action. But the fact remains that Postal has upped the ante as far as what is accepted in the mainstream gaming world. Where else can you wipe out an entire marching band with a well placed Molitov cocktail? If you're trying to get in touch with your inner sadist, give Postal a shot (or two)...
GameSpot (Oct 17, 1997)
The lack of longevity in the single-player mode and the simplistic multiplayer options make Postal a moderately fun ride, at best. Never before has the computer gamer been able to act out the darkest fantasies of a homicidal maniac with such abandon, but the impressive volume of carnage is the only thing setting Postal apart.
Gamezilla (Dec 13, 2000)
I would have a dilemma if Postal was a generally solid game, but given that it is pretty much just the same thing over and over again, I can honestly say I don't know why you'd buy this game unless it was to shock your parents, co-workers or whoever. The folks at Ripcord pushed the depravity in Postal way over the edge in the very same way that a bad movie will throw in a couple of explicit scenes to get an NC-17 rating, in hopes of titillating the viewing public into seeing an otherwise shallow film. I'm not advocating censorship here in any way, but face it -- the fact that the trend in titles like Duke Nukem, Carmageddon, Mortal Kombat and Postal is to have the sex, violence, depravity and just generally disturbing stuff turned on by default, rather than letting each player (or each player's parents) decide how he or she is going to set the game, begs the question of the motivations of the publishers.
PC Jeux (Dec, 1997)
Postal is a middle-of-the-road little action shooter — nothing more, nothing less. It has enough charm to make it kind of fun, and enough senseless violence to leave an impression, but that’s about it. If you’re the type of gamer who has a sense of humor, and likes blowing people away a la Syndicate, you’d probably get a kick out of Postal. Most gamers will probably find it pretty insubstantial, though. Want my advice? If you’re looking for a great, ultra-violent, isometric-perspective shooter, pass on Postal and dust off that copy of Crusader: No Remorse.
Overall, the only envelope POSTAL pushes is that of good taste. Otherwise, it's merely a routine shooter designed to delight the commonly morbid minds of preteen boys.
But it'll sell a lot of copies because the makers know what we want. We want controversy. We want things that are forbidden, that are bad for us. But Postal ultimately isn't controversial, and those looking to blame it for society's ills are missing the point. It's not guilty of ruining society - it's guilty of being a bad game.
