Puyo Puyo's entry on the PC

The Good
After checking my list of Puyo Puyo games, I decided searching the MobyList for Puyo games and I saw this one. At first, I though it was a rip-off, but when I saw "licensed from Compile", I was sure it was a Puyo Puyo port. The graphics are quite good for its time and they remind me of the earlier Windows games. Music is also good, some nice MIDI beats. Gameplay is simple, just like the other Puyo Puyo games, and the puzzles are very well made, thanks to Alexey.

The Bad
The enemies are the only bad thing about Qwirks. Instead of the anime-ish characters, here you fight some sort of strange, pre-rendered animals.

The Bottom Line
Qwirks is a very fun and addicting puzzle game for all ages. If you are familiar with the Puyo Puyo games, you will like this one as well.

Trivia

Cover art

Because Alexey Pajitnov was on the box, many believe he created the game, but if you look closely, you'll see that it says "Alexey Pajitnov INTRODUCES". The game was NOT created by Alexey Pajitnov, he is only credited in the game as a "Puzzle Designer".
