Real-Action Basketball is a basketball game which features 18 (not-licensed) German teams. After choosing one the player can participate in exhibition games, play-offs, cup championships or a whole season. With the editor he can also create his own championships (besides changing the team's and player's names). There are overall eight halls to play in.

On the field the player uses his keyboard or gamepad to perform actions like throwing or walking. There are two handling specialities which are handled differently than in similar games: to do a jumping throw the player has to press the jump button first and then presses the throwing button when he reaches the highest point of the jump. Of course the player can also perform standing jumps but then the blocking rate is much higher. The second difference is that blocking and trying to steal the ball is mapped to the same button. This means the game decides itself which of the two actions are performed. The player also can set up to four tactical orders and trigger them by pressing a button.
