A cool license and a clever time-twisting idea both go to waste in Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days. With more mission variety, character development, and technical polish I could see this being an unexpectedly fun top-down shooter. As it is, its lack of ambition in scenario design makes too little use of its unique mechanic which, in itself, doesn’t always work the way you’d expect it to. Bloody Days also fails to really capture the feel of the movie on which it’s based, presenting iconic characters as cheap knock offs that spout their signature lines at odd moments like pull-string toys. While the shooting can be fun and challenging, this one’s definitely not worth losing an ear over.

“Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs is a classic. A must see for fans of heist movies and stories with depth. So it’s a bit ironic that the exact opposite is true for Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days. Buggy, ugly, boring and pointless are all adjectives I could use to describe this game and each and every one of those would be cause enough to avoid playing this. I’m sorry Reservoir Dogs fans, hopefully it’s not another 25 years before something new comes out bearing that name, but this is one sick puppy and it needs to be put down.”

Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days fails miserably as a Reservoir Dogs tie-in. It fails miserably as a twin-stick shooter. Hell, it even fails miserably as a borderline passable game. This game is just absurdely bad, with bad visuals, bad soundtrack, terrible controls, a forced mechanic that’s nowhere near as useful or entertaining as the developers think it is, and way too many bugs to be ignored. Bloody Days doesn’t even deserve the world’s smallest violin. I’m so goddamn mad hollering at this game that I can hardly talk.
