Overall, Samorost2 is a worthy successor to the original Samorost. The gameplay is longer, the graphics have improved, and the game retains the same charm as the original. Some gamers may find Samorost2 a bit too short or be put off by the occasional pixel hunt. However, for those gamers who have a fondness for adventures with plenty of puzzles and little dialogue, Samorost2 is a game definitely worth playing.
Just Adventure (Jun 15, 2006)
To conclude, despite its short length, Samorost 2 is an exceptionally charming and imaginative indie adventure game, offering a highly immersive, interactive experience. Don’t let the simple gameplay fool you – beneath the surface lurk some deceptively challenging puzzles. This point-and-click flash adventure comes in two chapters – the first is free and playable from the developer’s website at The second chapter is accessible for a fee of $6.90, which then gives you the ability to download the entire game to your computer and play it offline. The nominal fee for the second chapter is definitely worth it, if only to inspire talented folks like the ones at Amanita Design, so that they continue to create such magical, whimsical titles which breathe new life into the adventure genre.

Despite the fact that the bulk of the game is free online, and only a small section is unlocked upon purchase, it's incredibly hard not to recommend the commercial version of Samorost 2 to any adventure fan. The world you explore is so enchanting, its creatures so endearing, and its puzzles so full of creativity that other than its short length, the game is incredibly hard to fault. Whether we ever see a next Samorost installment or another game from Amanita Design will depend on the success of this venture, and while no game earns a charity recommendation, Samorost is a worthy series that fully deserves your support based on merit alone. But there's no need to take my word for it. Head on over to the Samorost 2 website and start playing the free version now, along with the original, if you haven't already done so. You'll soon discover for yourselves that the small investment is worth every penny.

Máte-li rádi humor a fantasii, Samorost 2 bude váš šálek čaje.

Amanita Design has created a world that feels so unique and interesting, that it's like playing a brief nugget of some larger piece of art. It has loads of charm and great production values that will keep gamers intrigued throughout. If you're willing to overlook the annoying save system and the limited gameplay, you'll find a gem that's definitely worth the asking price. Just don't expect an epic adventure that lasts hours.
Adventurespiele (Nov 02, 2009)

While Samorost 2 isn’t overflowing with content, it only costs $5 and comes with the soundtrack in MP3 format, making it a decent value. Adventure veterans will blow right through the game, so they might prefer to think of the $5 as going to the soundtrack with the game itself serving as “album art,” or they might want to skip to Amanita’s later and more substantial title Machinarium. But for anyone who has a little time to kill, Amanita has opted for classic drug dealing marketing theory by offering the original Samorost and the first part of Samorost 2 for free. And if you make it that far, they’ve pretty much already got your money.
