Secret Ponchos: Most Wanted is a unique online multiplayer experience. Well-crafted maps and unique characters will lasso players in, and there’s enough depth with the leveling system and range of outlaws to continue playing.
Twinfinite (Nov 22, 2015)
Altogether, Secret Ponchos is a relatively simple, straightforward game with some very nice flair. Great visual and sound design bring the dusty Western setting to life, and a great cast of varied characters means tons of strategies to explore and refine. With a reasonable $14.99 price on Steam (or $44.99 for a four-pack), it’s tough not to say this is a great grab for players who thrive on competitive play, and it can even be a good pickup for those who, like me, aren’t normally interested in the genre.
After how disappointing the PS4 version of Secret Ponchos became, it’s a tough sell to get gamers to give it another shot. Switchblade Monkeys has earned that shot, though. Secret Ponchos: Most Wanted Edition is the thinking man’s western shooter. By placing equal emphasis on tactics as well as smarts, they have created the exciting addictive multiplayer title that it always could have been. Instead of doing a quickie port to try to get more scratch, attention was paid to the details needed to bring this up to the level it deserves. Like The Man with No Name, Secret Ponchos took one to the chest. With bravado, it stands up, reveals the furnace door beneath and is ready for the real duel to begin.

This is a great action/combat game for any gamer and I recommend checking it out. It is fun and different. The problem with bad pairings should clear up once more people start playing, so don’t fret about it. This game is going for $14.99 on Steam!
Brash Games (Dec 04, 2015)
If there’s one thing I love more than an indie game it’s an indie game with depth and boy-oh-boy does Secret Ponchos have a truck-load of that. If only they’d introduced some variety to its play this game would be a serious one to look out for. As it stands at the moment it has its fans in specific areas of the gaming community and appeals to a certain type of player but my question is: for how long? These games can come in with a bang because they’re fun and addictive but when the novelty wears off will it still be on the list of games you choose from when you want to play something with friends?…or will it just fizzle out like the fuse of a faulty stick of dynamite? I hope not.
Game Revolution (Oct 28, 2015)
This makes Secret Ponchos an odd prospect, in that the game itself is of reasonably high-quality save for a few gripes, but that it’s difficult to recommend given that it’s a competitive game which suffers from a dearth of people actually playing it. If you’re willing to take a chance on its number of active users potentially increasing in the future, then Secret Ponchos has much to offer thanks to its solid gameplay, with it being both accessible for newcomers and offering enough to satisfy those who wish to delve deeper into it. If you have a group of friends who are also willing to take the risk with you, you could certainly glean a lot of enjoyment out of the game, but it’s unlikely that you’ll still be playing it a couple of months down the line.
