Super Street Fighter IV: AE is the perfect entry point into the series for PC gamers. Time to clear some desk space.
Seth aside, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is a phenomenal fighter and well worth having in any PC gamer’s library. Being the only follow-up to Street Fighter IV on the PC, Arcade Edition is a substantial release that brings over a dozen new characters, numerous balances, and several multiplayer modes to the base game—and all for $39.99. Granted, for the proper experience, you’re going to want a controller or joystick, and I’ve found MadCatz line from the release of IV to be excellent in both use and value, making the extra twenty-plus added to the cost much more palatable. But if you already own them for your console, then you’re looking at a budget price release of a thoroughly packed title.

IGN (Jul 07, 2011)
Considering Super Street Fighter IV was never released on PC, the additions offered in the Arcade Edition are substantial. The roster is expanded from 25 to 39, there is a greatly increased number of modes for online play, and the replay channel is a drastic improvement over what was offered in the original Street Fighter IV. It's a fighting game with a huge amount of depth, featuring some of the most finely tuned, flexible combat mechanics you'll find. If you're not a hardcore fighting game fan but always wanted to check a game out, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is an excellent choice. And for any serious fighting game fan who mysteriously hasn't already purchased the console version, this should not be passed up.

Coming from a PC-centric point of view, you should purchase Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition if you're a fighting game fan. All of the improvements are a massive upgrade from vanilla Street Fighter IV, with the redone online matchups almost being worth it on their own. Given that fighting games are generally focused on consoles, it's refreshing that Capcom made the effort to release its premiere title on the PC. So long as your joystick is compatible, the PC version of Arcade Edition is recommended.
