Taaltris
Description
Taaltris is an educational language game for children aged eight or older. It practises the parsing of sentences, linguistic word categories and recognizing the grammatical function of constituents in the Dutch language, with gameplay similar to Tetris.
At the beginning of a game, the function of a constituent or linguistic category is shown at the top of the screen. At the bottom, there is a sentence, divided into words or constituents. A single square moves down at a constant speed and needs to be matched with the corresponding word or constituent to score points. If you fail, a bar at the bottom lifts the sentence and there is less time to think about the correct answer. When you make the same mistake over and over again, a help screen pops up with hints. After each game, a report with the score and the mistakes is shown.
A few hundred sentences are available at the start, divided over 4 difficulty levels, but you can also add your own.
