3rd Strike (Dec 27, 2019)
We Were Here Together delivers once again with the same excellent quality we have come to expect from this series. Anybody who likes brain-breaking puzzles or co-op can enjoy this, and with the longer length there really is hardly anything to complain about anymore.

Third Coast Review (3CR) (Oct 31, 2019)
I loved We Were Here Together. It had a great combination of clever puzzles that were challenging, and since I’m a sucker for asymmetrical multiplayer games, it scratched that itch. Co-op was a requirement, and was well executed, and puzzles were never easy to solve–you have to earn your progress, together. That’s something to work towards in game and out.

Ultimately, We Were Here Together is a must-play for fans of both co-op adventures and challenging puzzles. There are a few minor issues here and there (especially where the online matchmaking is concerned), but this new entry serves as a delightful cherry on top of an already impressive franchise cake. If you can find a likeminded friend willing to go on this adventure with you, I’d recommend doing so as soon as possible. One the other hand, if you’re still not convinced, I’d suggest picking up the original We Were Here, which is currently free on Steam.
Save Or Quit (Dec 07, 2019)
A solid experience, lacking replayability and needing a friend to buy it too for the best possible experience is quite simply a bummer but the first time around I doubt you’ll leave your seat until the ending credits roll, it’s short but really sweet and great – like a cupcake. And it’s a damn fine cupcake.
Gameplay (Benelux) (Oct 31, 2019)
We Were Here Together werkt het formaat van de voorgangers op geslaagde wijze uit en is verplicht voor liefhebbers van weldoordachte co-op games. Zorg dat je erbij bent!
Games.cz (Oct 21, 2019)
We Were Here Together je zdaleka nejlepším dílem série.
Adventure Gamers (Dec 06, 2019)
We Were Here Together provides a great assortment of co-op challenges that will test your ability to communicate vocally as well as to solve them together.
Gamer.nl (Dec 04, 2019)

I really enjoy this series and I appreciate how far it has come in the last couple of years. I hope that as the games get longer and budget increases, that they can maintain the same focused quality of the first two entries. Personally, I'd rather have less puzzles than bad puzzles.

We Were Here Together isn’t going to be for everyone, but if you’re a good communicator and enjoy working together then you really ought to give it a try. Especially if you enjoy being challenged. The puzzles are so tough that you’ll likely find yourself ignoring the story and forgetting that its even there – but if you do pay attention, there’s something pretty cool to unfold there. Be warned, We Were Here Together is a huge challenge and many will fall along the way – but if you do power through, you’ll have a good time.

So, what I took away from the 5 hours I and my friend spent with We Were Here Together. At it’s core it still features most of the basic puzzle designs, added some new ideas on top of that and also went a bit overboard here and there. I still don’t get why the “prologue-y” beginning was necessary but compared to many other coop adventures of this kind, it’s still the best one released this year.
Gnarly Guides / The Zombie Chimp (Oct 27, 2019)
Just like in any of the We Were Here series games, the game needs to come to an end at some time. With all the puzzles leading up to the end game, each time having to choose who gets to leave or figuring out what the last puzzle is to allow both you and your buddy to leave together is the icing on the cake for each of these games. But, when it comes to We Were Here Together, and at the time of this review, the only way to leave the puzzling world is to close the game at the same time or play a game of row-sham-bow. Once the puzzle is found, or the developers can help us out to leave together, the replayability for We Were Here Together will be much higher because you’ll now have more than one option to end the game.
