Basically, if you have ever said 'I could do that' or 'You dummy, it's D, not A!' then pick up this game and give it a whirl. Fans of the show are sure to enjoy the game. If you have the 1st Edition, then you already know what to expect. Snag Millionaire: 2nd Edition for a whole new group of brain teasers.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is TV gold -- pure serialized human drama, with plenty of money on the line. Buena Vista Software (AKA Disney) moved quickly to publish a cheapo home version of the game back in November and this follow-up with a new set questions follows right on its heels. The PC version of Millionaire, running on the same engine that powers "You Don't Know Jack," is half homage to the show and half no-frills trivia game. There may be no money on the line, but the game is well produced so that as the questions get tougher and the "stakes" get higher, the game actually manages to create some cheap thrills. At $15, cheap thrills are good enough.
While being nit picky at the game, in general this gets a hearty thumbs up recommendation for any fan of the TV show. This has double the amount of the actual questions with less repetitiveness as the original. It captures some of the best parts of the TV show into this CD-ROM game and allows you to recreate the action over and over again in the privacy of your own home. While no one has ever become a millionaire playing this game, it sure is fun pretending you could be one.

So, in conclusion, this is exactly what I thought it would be. Good fun, but in essence a Christmas cash cow for Eidos and Celador, with minimal effort on either side and guaranteed sales of several hundred million units. And you get to pretend to be a television contestant for a bit. That's it. My parents always said that life wasn't fair and now I'm convinced.

You know what Reege, I think I'll stop here instead. I'll take my $100 and go grab a few beers because I'm just not having much fun.

No right-minded individual needs convincing how sick and wrong it is to ask £30 for what is essentially a mission-pack for the first edition, and especially when it offers so little more. I'm sure it's going to sell well anyway, and Eidos know they're going to get away with it. It's daylight robbery but while the cow's there, they may as well milk it.
