Worth Playing (Oct 01, 2010)
Worms Reloaded finally seems to get something that's been missing from the Worms series for a long, long time. It modernizes it just the right way to deliver the old magic. Worms is back, and it's bringing hilarious, strategic, turn-based strategy mayhem with it. For only $20, it's strongly recommended for most strategy gamers or people who are looking for something different. With that said, be forewarned that the system requirements are quite high and can cripple non-gaming machines.
Game Watcher (Aug 26, 2010)
It’s rare that a videogame can remain just as relevant today as it did at the turn of the decade, but precisely because of the stylised graphics, simplistic physics and endless customisation options, Worms remains evergreen to this day. With a relatively low price, it’s a nostalgic celebration you really shouldn’t pass up.
Ironhammers (Aug 26, 2010)
Worms is back on the PC at last — and it’s better than ever. Both fans of the series and newcomers will thoroughly enjoy all aspects, a game that’s very hard to find fault in.
Thunderbolt Games (Oct 14, 2010)
Although Worms Reloaded has its share of rare but notable problems, it is without a doubt the pinnacle of the franchise, the single best and most complete version of Worms to date. The level of customization is staggering and the game’s timeless artillery gameplay is just as fun as it was fifteen years ago. Hopefully the developers at Team 17 will give the game a chance to breathe and find an audience before releasing yet another iteration to be filed in the worms’ seemingly endless march towards gaming oblivion.

Worms Reloaded oli - ja on - nostalginen kokemus. Olin tutustunut pelien kolmiulotteisiin kokeiluihin ja pettynyt ankarasti. Nyt täysin uusittu kaksiulotteinen versio, joillakin uusilla ja useilla vanhoilla kartoilla, pyyhkii niillä pöydän. Worms on tarkoitettu kaksiulotteiseksi vuoropohjaiseksi räiskinnäksi eikä miksikään muuksi. Piste.
Gaming Nexus (Aug 30, 2010)
Worms Reloaded is a love letter to the fans of the series from Team 17. The title is basically everything that is good from each of the previous iterations of the title with a fresh coat of paint and a few new features. The core design and charm of the game is the same as it was 15 years ago when the series first launched, which is where a majority of its charm lies. If you loved the series at any time in the past, you will no doubt love this version. While this may turn off some people, who were expecting more from a new title, those who appreciate the game’s core will fall in love with the series all over again. If there is one Worms title to have, this is it…
IGN (Sep 30, 2010)
This is the biggest, prettiest Worms, yet. Strategy fans will find one of the most fun multiplayer games around, and there is plenty to do on your own, as well. Few games offer the chance to wield a weapon called the Buffalo of Lies -- don't miss yours.
GamingEvolution (Sep 20, 2010)
The Worms series continues to evolve, but it also keeps things simple. The engine remains largely unchanged from previous editions, but the level of customization and fun as grown even greater. Teams can be customized right down to their little hats and makeshift grave markers! Battles can be customized down to the number of each weapon, mine, and crate. In the future, I would like to see a sense of purpose and achievement added to the multiplayer modes. In the new Super Smash Brothers games, players can unlock secrets by either meeting certain objectives or simply playing a TON of multiplayer battles. If I could have gotten even a small number of coins for each multiplayer Worms match, I would have been able to buy Armageddon ten times over. I think the in-game achievement and the personal sense of purpose are enough incentive for fans of single player gaming to dig right into the campaign, but I’ve always felt Worms to be a lot more enjoyable in good company.
GameStar (Germany) (Sep 03, 2010)
Eben!

The changes are all skin-deep, as it’s still the same wacky warfare we fell in love with in the 90s. However, considering how slow, confusing and unappreciated the 3D versions seemed, a lightweight remake for today’s networking capabilities is more than welcome if you’re longing for this stuff.
DarkZero (Aug 28, 2010)
Certainly more pressing is that the game felt like it had a couple of bug related blips during the multiplayer tryout. Incessantly typing “HAHAHAHAHA” on the chat screen at the point of victory caused the game to freeze for all parties on a couple of occasions. It is unlikely that this will be a particularly regular problem, but I would exercise caution nonetheless. These hiccups aside, Worms Reloaded is a welcome, engaging and worthwhile title, and a measured balance of old and new.
My recommendation for those who are already fans of the series is definitely to buy it, but if you’re more of a real-time strategy fan or just aren’t sure that this is a game you’d enjoy, play it first.
GamingLives (Jan 08, 2011)
Worms as a concept has remained unchanged from its early days on the Amiga but remains as absorbing as ever. The surreal weaponry, cut-out levels, and silly voices are all present and correct – as is, unfortunately, the ridiculous accuracy of the enemy AI, but the sense of humour and addictive gameplay will keep you coming back. Accessible to newbies and series veterans alike, this reboot of the recent console release sees the franchise make a welcome return to its spiritual home on the PC, and not before time. The Landscape Editor and speech bank extras are just the icing on the cake and go a little way to blunting the disappointment at the near identical port. The game is just Worms in all its cartoony, colourful, violent glory and it won’t likely ever change much – all Team 17 need to do is change the landscapes, mix up the weaponry, and cash the cheque every few years, but to be honest, they don’t really need to do much else.
GameSpot (Aug 27, 2010)
Custom landscapes certainly aren't reason enough to buy Worms Reloaded if you've already played the aforementioned X360 game, but other reasons to pass on this $20 game are few and far between. The occasionally amusing voice samples repeat frequently enough that they might become grating after a while, and online multiplayer games take longer than they should because a "waiting for other players" message pops up a lot between turns and hangs around until everyone's connections are ready to proceed, but outside of these minor complaints, Worms Reloaded doesn't do much wrong. Even the cartoony art style, which is still recognizable as that employed in the first game, defies its age and continues to impress with amusing animations and updated effects for water, fire, and smoke. Regardless of your feelings about the ongoing Worms conflict, your best bet is to become embroiled in it.

79 (Oct 11, 2010)
Worms Reloaded is a pretty and engaging game that, while light on the single player replayability will charm and endear with its quirky weaponry and unique brand of multiplayer carnage. There is no other game series like it and the gaming world would be diminished without the presence of the endless warfare of Worms.

Game Kudos (Sep 15, 2010)
Worms Reloaded is a game that caters to both the hardcore fans and newcomers of the series. Team 17 have taken the scaffold of the original games and beefed it up with an array of new features. At the given price, there is a fair amount of content offered, though it will be online gamers and socialites who get the most bang for their buck.
Gameplay (Benelux) (Sep 29, 2010)
Game Revolution (Oct 05, 2010)
If you already have Worms 2: Armageddon on a console, then you won’t be missing much by skipping Reloaded since it’s basically just an enhanced port. But if you have never played Worms before, or absolutely need a PC version, now’s as good a time as any to jump into the slimy, slithery, British-y chaos. 15 years in, and this war’s just getting started.
PC Gamer (Aug 27, 2010)
Multiplayer is firmly where it’s at though, and aside from a few mid-game syncing issues, a ridiculously oversized UI and some issues finding public games in the server browser that will hopefully be patched this side of soon (check the official forums for updates), Worms remains as great as ever. It’s a simple, beautiful game, and while you may wince at paying for it yet again, Reloaded is a great version that will have fans and new players alike falling back under the spell of the spineless ones.
Level (Sweden) (Oct, 2010)
Game Rant (2010)
Worms: Reloaded is, much like previous games in the series, a LAN party must-have. Otherwise, you’re better off looking for something, well, anything really. (Aug 26, 2010)
Worms: Reloaded brings back all of the fun the series has had over the years while adding new weapons, levels, mechanics and more. Besides the sound problem I encountered while playing, which can be fixed by updating DirectX, it is a really fun game for PC gamers to take their friends on. Fans won’t be disappointed by getting this, and newcomers can ease themselves into it before taking on competition online with the tutorial and single player modes.
